1st pregnancy think im having contractions?

hi ladies heres a little back info about my pregnancy. i am 35 weeks 2 days along with a little girl at my 35 week appointment the ob checked me for dialation she said i was at 1 cm but didnt say if i was effaced or soft or anything she did however say that she could easily feel babys head which i know doesnt mean much . At my appointment 4 days before they checked me and i was 0 cm is this normal to go from 0 to one in 4 days? Anyways for a few days now i have had alternating pains some in my lower back and then some that feel like i need to number 2 but nothing comes out and the pains go away. Im not sure what a contraction is supposed to feel like so im not sure what i should time or when. My mother never felt her contractions with me in fact she slept right through them im just anxious and afraid of the unknown i guess. Any advice would be great thanks ladies!

    I would lay down and drink some water... if they don't go away or become rhythmic meaning you can time them... I would call the birthing center :)

    thanks so much ill try that the pains mostly come in twos ill have one it wil go away and a few minutes later ill have another then ill go about my day only to have it happen that way again hours later. ive had lots of braxton hicks they never hurt just a slight tightning this hurts though. im super excited to meet my daughter!

    You probably are having a few irregular contractions. That can be perfectly normal. Handle them just like you would with Braxton Hicks. However, since you are still early I would make your doctor aware of them at your next appointment or call immediately if they become regular.

    will do i was thinking that maybe they were contractions but wanted to get another opinion. i have another appointment on thursday ill let her know then thank you!

    What the hell is your doctor doing checking you so early? Irregular contractions are normal at your point in pregnancy but I would def mention it to your dr. It's way too early for babe to come.

    If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times - call your doctor. That's what you're paying him/her for. No one here can examine you. It sounds like Braxton Hicks, but none of us can be for sure.
