nursing pads

Ok, so I've started back at work a few weeks ago and I've run into an issue... I have humongo boobs so I didn't buy a padded bra when I bought my nursing bra because I didn't want the extra bulk and my old non-nursing bras no longer fit. I wear fairly form fitting shirts at work because loose fitting tops make me look frumpy - again I believe a side effect of my 'I's (that's size I - that's DDDDDD - sextuplet D!). So my problem is you can see my nursing pads through my shirt. My DH jokes and says it looks like I have balogna in my bra :'(  So far my only solution is to wear a cardigan over my shirts but it's HOT I'm hoping to get away from that.

What are you guys doing to hide your nursing pads? I could probably get away with not wearing them but I'm so paranoid that I'll leak through my shirt in the middle of a meeting.

Re: nursing pads

  • Can you wear a camisole underneath the form-fitted shirt?  And are you sure you need the nursing pads.  I was wearing them regligiously that first week, and I've never leaked-ever.  I was always worried that the ONE day I didn't wear them I'd be soaked, but I've never had a problem

  • I am using Lansinoh. They're definitely the best I've found.

Mand - I should give a cami a shot and see if that helps. I probably don't need them - I'm just overly paranoid that I'll leak through my shirt. The pads never feel like they're been leaked on though so maybe I'll give freedom (from nursing pads) a shot. But keep my cardi close by in case of an accident.

  • Yeah, that's a good idea.  I hate loose-fitting shirts too, but with these huge boobs I feel exposed a lot! Not nearly as big as yours, :), but a tight shirt automatically looks "inappropriate-for-work"

  • I use bamboobies for daytime nursing pads and I like them because they have the heart shape and don't show nearly as much as the disposable ones do. (Bamboobies are washable and reusable)
  • I mix it up between the lashinoh and the bamboobies. Both don't show too badly.
  • I use Lansinoh and really like them. I buy them from buy buy baby and use their coupons since we get so many in the mail.

  • I use the Lansinoh and unfortunately still need them because I leak randomly. The LilyPadz work well if you're not leaking much anymore.

  • I use the Up&Up brand. I haven't had any issues with them showing thru my shirts. I've also tried the Madela pads - unlike the Up&Up, they curve so you may have better luck with those.
