I am never listening to the nurse again!

Holy side effects Batman. 

This is my second month taking clomid, the first month, when I took the pill right before bed, I didn't have a single side effect. The (new) nurse recommended taking the pill in the afternoon. Tonight alone, I think I have every side effect listed! 

Sorry, just venting since my husband can do nothing but shrug and say he is sorry.

    Aww that sucks! Clomid is not fun and side effects are such a pain! That's strange that they would tell you to take it in the afternoon? I take mine in the evening to reduce the effects, but I still get a lot of hot flashes, moodiness, and skin breakouts from it. Hang in there!

    Regularly access alternative medicine to supplement a lack of resources in our geographical area.
    • Three rounds of clomid (50mg days 3-7) were useless.
    • IUI#1 w/clomid & HCG in May 2013, BFN.
    • IUI#2 w/clomid & HCG on July 23rd. BFN.
    • IUI #3 in August cancelled last minute, due to lab error.
    • IVF#1 - Started Gonal F stims October 13 2013 for IUI. Over-responded with too many follicles, so converted to IVF. Retrieval October 29th - got 5 eggs, 4 fertilized. Had 2 perfect little embryos transferred on day 3 (Nov. 1). The remaining 2 didn't survive to freeze. Got our BFN on November 13th 2013.
    • IVF#2 - Started stims August 21st. Triggered with Suprefact, started on dostinex due to risk of OHSS. Retrieval September 5th - got 27 eggs! 21 embryos on day 3. Embryos deteriorated quickly. ESet 5day blast on Sept 10. No embryos high enough quality to freeze. BFN came Sept. 22.

    Reserved a semi-known proven donor in August .

    Waiting for consult/screening and protocols with estimated fresh cycle timing in October

    Did she give a reason for recommending the afternoon? That sucks man. Luckily Clomid is usually a short course, so hopefully the side effects will subside quickly.

    ** After  2 1/2 years of Unexplained IF, 2 failed medicated cycles, and 4 failed IUI's - our baby girl came to us through the miracle of     Mini IVF! **

    So didn't give any specific reason other than "in case you forget." I should have just stuck to my gut knowing I rarely forget to take meds.

    Huh. My nurse said to take it in the morning. She didn't give a reason at all. The only thing. Notice was that I couldn't sleep. Of course the nurse feels my insomnia is unrelated to the the clomid...but I am not convinced.

    November/December Retesting/Natural Cycle = Surprise BFP @ 11dpo! Beta#1 76.6@13dpo Beta #2 276@15dpo u/s#1 6w2d hb113 u/s#2 8w2d, measuring 8w4d hb168! 10w2d hb171 12w3d Verifi results are in and good! EDD 8/23 Our Baby Girl Rainbow Baby born 8/20/2014!!!
    Um...what? BFP 11/2/15!?! EDD 7/4/16

    My doc doesn't care when I take it. He did say it is important to take it at the same time every day. I take it in the evening and my side effects haven't been too bad.
    TTC since 10/11
    Me, 26- Normal. DH, 28- Low morphology (2-4%)
    August 2013 100mg Clomid+TI=BFP!
    Beta #1,2,3=136, 1351, 5328

    Having been on clomid, femara, lupron, GonalF, Vivelle, and esterace I can honestly say that clomid had the WORST side effects of all!  Hang in there!
    Married: 7/2/11 TTC: 12/2011
    Me: 31, PCOS DH: 37, low morph and low counts

    4 medicated TI, 1 IUI+Femara, 1 IUI+GonalF = BFNs
    IVF #1 Lupron/GonalF (Dec 2012)= 30R, 21M, 21F with ICSI, 18 HIP frosties!!!
    FET in August 2013

    When I took it the doctor told me the same thing...make sure to take the same time each day.  Many times, we know what is best for our body.  Hopefully the side effects won't last long.  They got better for me the longer I was on it.  The first time was pretty bad.

    On a break while husband is deployed.  Will try to do more testing and prepare for IVF

    ugh! hang in there! I hate when I follow advice that I know is going to be wrong and BAM- it is :(
