moms with reflux babies

At my daughter's last specialist appointment we were told to thicken her milk with oatmeal.  I know the purpose of thickening cereal is to help it stay down but can we also expect for her to stay fuller longer and go longer in between feedings? Right now she is on pumped breastmilk and feeds every 2-3 hours still.

  • We add cereal to Jackson's bottles because of reflux. He still eats about every 3 hrs (FF), but he eats less. Pre-cereal he was eating 5-5.5 oz, but now he eats 4 oz of formula with 2 tablespoons of cereal.

  • I was under the impression it was a myth that it helps them stay full longer.
