I called DH and asked if he could come home from work. DS has been miserable all day. I posted earlier about his stuffy nose. Well he wasn't eating either. He's never refused the boob -- ever in his 11.5 weeks. He wouldn't even attempt to latch, just laid there crying/screaming. I tried the other boob, I tried taking a break and coming back later, I tried different holds, he wasn't having it. He's had wet diapers and plenty of tears all day, no fever. I don't know. It's just one of those days. And it got to a point where I needed help and didn't have anyone else I could call.
We did the saline drops and nasal aspirator thing. And now DH is giving him a bottle which took a few tries, but he's finally taking it. Meanwhile, I'm sitting here pumping (and eating pretzel M&Ms because it's been stressing me out).
No real point to this post other than to say just when you think you're on a good roll or have a good routine going... man those babies will throw you a curveball.
Re: First time I've had to do this all summer...
Nothing wrong with asking for help when you need it!
