Just got an email from MIL

One of her best friend's daughters is having a baby and due today. I have never met this girl (the daughter) yet I got informed how dilated she is.... Weird.

I feel strange now because dh told his parents last night that I am 2 cm (I don't have a problem with them knowing) but now I'm wondering if some mass email went out to all of THEIR friends about the condition of my vagina...hmmm...lovely.

Isn't it amazing some of the things that people think should be public knowledge? My MIL texted me when one of their family friends was in labor and told me how she was progressing, then informed me that the baby was 9lbs 9oz and then told me how TORN UP she was down there......... Safe to say MIL will not know any of those details when I go into labor!

I haven't told anyone that I'm 1 cm dilated, I just feel funny talking so specifically about my cervix. I just say "not much progress yet" and leave it at that.

Also, a FB friend of mine posted a status update that she had her membranes stripped. All I could think about were the men who were reading that and have no idea what that means, they were probably so grossed out!

Awkward!! This is part of the reason why DH won't be telling anyone on his side of the family if I am starting labor or having contractions. They are like their own news station.

Haha. Totally agree. What may be worse is when I see dilation-in-cm updates on FACEBOOK. Gross. It hasn't happened in a while, but I do have four other girlfriends who are due within the month (I'm first, and as you can see, no outside baby yet.)

I just found out this morning as DH was getting ready for work that he has discussed my cervix with a coworker. I snapped at him and he had this tail between the legs look. I told him discussing my cervix with coworkers is not an option. It is only discussed with DH, my mom, and best friend. And only because those are the 3 people allowed in the hospital room with me during labor, and mom and best friend are out of state and I'm updating them as needed. Even though it means nothing in regards to going into actual labor, but still, not appropriate for coworkers!!!!

Haha! Poor girl probably has no idea there's a status of her vag email going around. So long as it doesn't end with "resend this to 12 of your friends or you'll be 5 weeks overdue and have a 17.5 lb baby." That is soooo strange and kinda funny!

Gross! I only felt comfortable sharing that info with my pregnant friend and my other friend that is a OB physicians assistant. Nobody knew we were having DS until after....they almost didnt believe us to the point they called the hospital to ask if I was admitted, lol.

I am getting daily requests for details from his mom ... "Feeling anything? Any spotting? How is your mucus plug? What about contractions ? I really need to know the second you feel something !" ... My mom is a bit more subtle "how is it going today"
