So I was diagnosed with GD on Friday, had my first appt yesterday with doc for it. Plan was to be diet controlled.
Fast forward to my #'s and diet. Last night before bed 62....yup SIX TWO. No bueno.
This morning 2 hours after a breakfast of 3/4 cup fruity pebbles (though I would give it a shot) 1 cup 2% milk on said fruity pebbles, and a strawberry light yogurt. #73...yup, still friggin low.
Morning snack: Peanut Butter Sandwhich and 17 grapes
Lunch: Salad (1½ cup lettuce, 1 cup tomato, 1 cup cucumber and 2 tbs ranch) 1/3 cup pasta w/ 2 tbs pesto sauce. Two hours later and my number is #83, yup still low.
Just had my afternoon snack of watermelon and cantaloupe and am awaiting a call from my new doc to see what the heck is going on.
I have used the control on my meter and it is working.
Also on the frustration scale, my insurance requires that a pre auth be done on test strips. They covered the lancets but won't pay for the strips until they get authorization from the doc. ??? this is a serious scratch my head moment. If I don't get them tomorrow I'm going to have to pay out of pocket and that is going to $160 something, right before tax free weekend. *sigh*
Any idea ladies on the sugar issue? Am I the one not working right?
