Thankful Thursday

As frequent as my LO wakes up throughout the night (every 1.5-2 hrs) at least he wakes up to feed and goes right back to sleep, even if he wakes up screaming with gas he won't open his eyes. Poor little guy just wants to sleep

99% of the time he is up for the day around 7am and he hardly ever has any meltdowns, I can probably count the total on one hand.

I'm thankful for such a healthy and happy baby. I'm also thankful for my wonderful DH. Seeing him play, feed, talk and sing to DD etc. makes me so happy that DD has her daddy. Growing up and my father not being in my life was so hard for me and almost 25 years later, I'm starting to accept it.

I tried reaching out to him when we found out about DD and she seemed excited until we told him we were having a girl. Never spoke to him again until the day she was born. I told him she was here. He never said congrats, Okay, screw you, never came to meet her, asked her name or anything. Sorry this has become a vent too..... I'm just thankful to have a healthy and happy family and I'm in love knowing she's a Daddys girl!

My dad was absent growing up as well. That was actually one of the things that attracted me to my hubby, he was amazing with kids and seemed like a stable guy. As of today neither my parents or siblings has called me to congratulate me on the birth of my son. My sisters have sent Facebook messages but that just seems to not count in my book.

I'm thankful that LO hasn't yet had any major problems sleeping *knock on wood*, especially at night. She'll wake up to feed, but I can put her right back into her crib without any problem.

I'm thankful that I have finally started losing weight and found a weight loss program that is working for me. It feels nice to be doing something for me.

I am just so thankful for my kids. They are hard, get on my nerves at times (toddler), don't sleep (infant) but I couldn't imagine my life without them. I could not imagine never knowing and loving these children. They are my world. Oh so my husband is awesome too.

I'm thankful to be able to afford to fly DH, LO, and me home to Chicago to see my family in a few weeks. Also thankful that I don't have to go back to work til October.

I am thankful for coffee this morning! I had 3 hours pf sleep last night and not bc's of LO I just could not fall sleep! So I am sooo thankful for coffee! <:-P

I am thankful that my mom is taking LO overnight tomorrow night so that DH and I can have a much needed date night and SLEEP IN on Saturday morning.

I am thankful for this recent spree of beautiful weather in Mpls - not humid, just warm enough, no A/C, windows open...

I am thankful that my office is casual dress until the end of August (then it is back to biz clothes, ick)

I am thankful that i had the presence of mind to force myself to go for a walk last night instead of watching TV. It was beautiful out, LO was sleeping, and I just walked out the front door and kept moving for 40 minutes. It felt great.

I am thankful for working part time so LO stays out of childcare and for DH support. It's not easy in us but we are making it work.

I am thankful for such a supportive husband who knows responsibility. Staying out here in my mom's apartments gives me perspective. Like last night a couple with a brand new baby were fighting and she was kicked out of the house cause he was cheating and she went off on him. She wasn't on the lease and he just threw both her and the baby out and the baby was basically naked outside so I went out there gave her a pair of clothes and socks and a blanket while she waited for her friend to pick her up. Stuff like this is common here... sad.

I am thankful for my husband's parents buying as plane tickets so we could go back to Seattle for a week so that they could meet them as well as my dad and mum (my mom was the only one here after he was born). I'm also thankful for skype, it would be so much harder to be this far away from them without it.

I am thankful to have finally met with a doctor who has some concrete answers for us. DD has a hemangioma on her cheek and we saw a pediatric dermatologist today who has started us off on a very conservative, risk-free treatment plan. It feels good to know we are doing something for our baby but not taking on the more hard core treatments before they are deemed totally necessary.

I'm curious about the treatment,my LO has a small one on his back. Not in such an exposed area as you though, how large is yours?

I'm very thankful for the people in my life - DH, my brother, my in-laws, and especially DD. She was in such a happy mood today and spent all day staring at me, and beaming every time I looked at her.

@ClandestineX that is such a thoughtful thing you did for that woman and her baby. I'm sure she truly appreciated it.

I am thankful for my friends and family. Today is my birthday and it sure was nice to be pampered a little. Of course my son is my world, but it felt good to have today be all about me! My family and friends are amazing! - feeling loved :x
