We started on Enfamil Newborn since that's what our doctor suggested. Switched to Enfamil Gentlease with reflux issues. LO did well on it but I didn't like the fact that corn syrup is the main ingredient so we switch to Earth's Best Sensitivity. He's doing great on it and I like that it's organic.
I hear ya! I started out BFing, but due to low weight gain, reflux, and milk allergy I went to EPing and supplementing, then eventually made the switch completely. Of course, we had to be put on Alimentum. Holy balls! The pedi said we could use Nutramigen instead of Alimentum. It is slightly less expensive, but I don't want to go through the hassle of switching. I suppose we only five expensive month left, so I'll stick it out. :-q
We BF for 5 months but LO got maybe 2 bottles a week when I had to leave her with someone else during a feeding. We've always used Gerber Good Start Gentle (per pedis recommendation at our 2 month checkup) She was pretty gassy and fussy the first 3 months so we didn't want to upset her stomach. But now we've gotten the go ahead to switch to whatever formula we want, i.e. whatever they sell at costco! pedi said they're all the same, for the most part
We attempted breast feeding and used Similac Advanced to supplement. But it made him really constipated so we switched to Enfamil Infant. Now we use the Target Brand that's similar to Enfamil.
DD was bf for the first 4 months until I went back to work and couldn't pump so we used similac sensitive and switched to the regular similac and now use the target brand that's like the similac!
We started with Gerber Gentle when she was around 3 months old. I used it because it's supposed to be closest to BM. I had to have surgery so I couldn't nurse for several days and had to supplement, so that's what we went with. I used it here and there over the next couple months. Since birth she had reflux issues which continued with the formula so we switched to Gerber Soothe and that was much better for her. We love Gerber Soothe. I used Enfamil with my son which was fine but it was much smellier and would stain things easier so I would definitely recommend Gerber.
DS has always been on a store brand. The first one we started on had sugar as the first ingredient so now he is on Presidents Choice Organics. It used to be the cheapest, but has gone up $5 in price in the past month. So happy I stock up like a crazy woman and have 14 cans in the house.
DS was given Similac Advanced in the Nicu so we stuck with that then switched to the BJ's brand which is the same but half the price and we haven't had any issues.
My LO has been on Similac Alimentum since she was 3 months old due to colic symptoms and gas. It is so expensive, but my ped said I shouldnt switch until she turns 9 months. I have 2 more months of being broke, but I do what I have to do for her.
We started off using Emfamil newborn because that's what the hospital used. We used it for a few days and noticed DS being really gassy so we switched to Simliac Sensitive and 8 months later we're still using it and have had no issues
Started on Enfamil EnfaCare because he was a premie and needed the extra calories (pumping wasn't working great while he was in the NICU and after). Once his weight stabilized, we went to Enfamil Gentlease, until we discovered the ilk wasn't settling well for him (crazy spit up, horrible eczema). Ow we are on Enfamil Prosobee...he loves it. Far less spit up and the eczema is clearing up.
We started with the Similac NeoSure since my LO was a preemie and a bit sick. She did great on that, but when we went to the Similac Advance she didn't do well. Of course afterward we tried the soy only to find out she had a soy allergy... We finally rested on the Similac Alimentum, and she has done VERY well with it for months now. Even though we've started baby foods, she still gets at least 4 or 5 bottles of the Alimentum a day, and that partnered with prescription Nexium has let her thrive!
I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who needs a hypoallergenic formula. It is well worth the price!
Started on Enfamil Newborn, went through 3 months with that, used Enfamil Premium for a few months and recently switched to Target's version of Enfamil.
Started with similac advance, bad reflux had us switch to similac allemtium. Ladies who use this check with your insurance our covers a portion of it. We get it delivered from edgepark medical. Call them they do the paperwork and contact insurance for you.
We started with Enfamil Newborn at the hospital and stuck with that until we switched to the Infant formula. LO never seemed to have any problems with either. I am still too nervous to try out a Target brand so save a few dollars.
