School-Aged Children

Disney World Bound!

We are going to Disney with my extended family this September. The ages of children will range from 9 years to 4 months! Anyone have suggestions about the best way to save a buck at parks, etc? Where can I buy the cheapest tickets to parks? Any suggestions are helpful! Thanks!

  • Depending on where you are staying, bring snack food with you or go to a store nearby.  If you really want to save money, get stuff for breakfast you can eat in your room before you go.  Get sandwich stuff you can make and bring or head back to the room for lunch and take a break (rest, swim, etc) while the parks are crazy busy.  Plan carefully when you do eat out.  We never ate 3 actual meals a day but always had a big breakfast and a larger dinner but on the early side and then had a snack or 2 throughout the day (stuff we brought with us).  We also shared meals a lot as my mom and I and my 2 girls are not big eaters.  WE did not do the meal plans as it was not worth it for us but depending on you eat, it might be worth looking into.  We also didn't buy stuff there.  We surprised the girls and bought PJs at home that they got the 1st night.  We bought them Princess Dresses at the Disney Store here for way less and surprised them with matching dolls also bought.  We bought them each a few Minnie t-shirts from Target to wear.  We went with my parents and they bought the girls each one thing (both get a Barbie type doll) but that was it we bought since we had all from home with us and it was still new and very exciting for the girls.  Bring water bottles that you can just refill at the hotel vs buying new each day.
