Daycare Moms...naps?

Any advice or tips you have used to get your LO to nap successfully at daycare?

When DS stopped going to daycare in May (I'm off for the Summer), he was taking 20 minute power naps. I worked ALL summer to get him to take longer naps, and as of last week he was taking two 90 min naps a day and it was wonderful! A week into daycare today he took one 20 min nap, and was a total crying mess when I got there.

I'm so sad that he is having such a tough transition. He has a security blanket, paci and noise machine in his crib to try and make him as comfortable as possible and to block out some of the noise from the teachers and other kids. Any other ideas? Advice? Commiseration?

    give it time to become normal again?
    My guy naps better at daycare than at home!

    I'm with LD -- You've just gotta give it time.  Hopefully your daycare providers are understanding and have some tricks up their sleeve.  If I remember correctly, DS took pretty miserable naps during his first week or so of daycare, and the same regression happened when we switched daycares.

    My LO naps really well in the car, so if he's really had a hard day, I'll just take him on a drive after we pick him up from daycare.  It means he'll go to bed a little later, but it's either that or he'll be a mess until his bedtime.

    Just like the other moms said.  The first week of daycare Wesley did not nap, now he takes 2 40 minute naps at daycare.  He naps better at daycare than at home with me.I'm lucky if I get one twenty minute nap all weekend.  Your little one will find his groove again and it will get better.

    Honestly? I've given up... She takes two twenty min naps at daycare and an hour when we get home (I'm off at 3 so she's home and in bed by four).

    Hoping when she moves to the toddler room at a year she takes longer naps because they have nap time when all kids nap at the same time
