Trying to be a little specific as I narrow down my search for the best convertible for DS. And I come here to ask because my local baby stores don't have one of the carseats I'm considering to hook into my car to try for fit, so here goes:
I'm looking for a convertible seat that will last us a while so I'm down to either the Chicco NextFit or the Diono Radian (some verison of).
I want it to sit rear facing as long as possible, but I have Captains chairs in the middle row so either seat will have to fit behind the passenger that I sit in whenever we go anywhere as a family- and I like my leg room.
I've seen that the Diono Radian has to be angled pretty dramatically for babies under approximately 8 months, does that fit behind a passenger seat?
I also see that the Chicco NextFit has a lot of reclining options which I like, but do they work behind the passenger seat or are you stuck with one or two for space restrictions?
I can probably put off the purchase for a few months until DS outgrows his Chicco KeyFit30, but I'm thinking that will happen around 8 months (ironically the same time the Radian can sit more upright).
Sorry for the lengthy post, with the KeyFit being so new I have read rave reviews on safetly and lifetime, but not a lot of people I know own one.
I also like the thought that the Raidian converts to a booster so this seat could (if expiration dates allow) be the only other seat I buy for DS to last him through 8 years or 48".
