Ok, Ladies! Thinking caps on!

I need some help!  I had a horrible night of sleep last night.  I am so uncomfortable.  I have been sleeping with a regular pillow that I cuddle, but I'm thinking I need something bigger.  Here's where I need your help....

For those ladies who use pregnancy pillows - what kind do you use and what made you choose the one you use?

For those ladies who don't use pregnancy pillows - what do you do to help make yourself comfortable at night?

Thanks!

Re: Ok, Ladies! Thinking caps on!

  • I've started to use a smaller, square pillow that used to be on our couch to put in between my legs/knees. That has really helped my back and hips get aligned so I can be comfortable.

  • I haven't purchased a pregnancy pillow yet, for now I just use an additional regular king-sized pillow to help me sleep on my side. Basically put it alongside me, drape top leg over it.

the same... I remember my SIL saying that the pregnancy pillow was too hot! So, I am using what I am used to already... =)

I got a Snoogle with my last pregnancy. It's nice, but pricey.

When I go visit my parents, I don't drag the thing with me - so I just use regular pillows, like others mentioned. I prop two up behind my head, use one in between my legs, and I sometimes put one behind my back.

  • I use two pillows and sleep at an incline. I find that makes me most comfortable.
  • I haven't upgraded to a pregnancy pillow yet. I sleep sort of ON a firm-ish feather pillow. I'm a stomach sleeper so sleeping kind of half on/half off this pillow lets me comfortably sleep in almost my regular position.

I was handed down a Snoogle that I use when I lay down on my basement couch and my mom got me the 3 piece Boppy preg pillow that I'm saving until I'm uncomfortable in bed.

With my last pregnancy I configured a bunch of regular pillows and slept on my side but the most important one was the small one under my belly. That helped me the most.

  • I use a regular pillow, and I just sleep with it in between my knees. I'm a natural side sleeper.

  • I snuggle with a body pillow that goes between my legs and has helped with lower back ache.  Though the pillow feels like it's a bit much, and my DH complains there's a wall between us now.  I do feel the pillow can overwhelm me when I'm trying to roll onto my other side so I may just put a regular pillow between my knees and see if that helps with my back still.

  • I use a snoogle. I bought it on Amazon with my first pregnancy. I don't remember why I went with that one but I've never regretted it lol

  • I don't use a pregnancy pillow but I make my own sort of. Right now I'm at two pillows but last time I got up to 3. So far I have the one for my head and a second that rotates from between my knees and me hugging it in front of me. Eventually and probably soon ill have the head one and then one at my knees and one that I hug/prob the belly on. It worked for me very well last time but was a pain when I wanted to roll over. I got to master it though by the end. I also never fully got rid of my second pillow since ds was born.

  • I use a body pillow (my in-laws gave it to me when I was pregnant with DS) and Tylenol PM. I have insomnia when pregnant evidently.

  • Snoogle! I got it from Burlington coat factory for $39.99 and its the best thing I've ever purchased and has helped with my back / hip pain immensely! It's a C / U shape and looks huge, but there's still plenty of room for DH and I to cuddle on our queen size bed, even with me spooning the snoogle.

  • I have the Boppy total pregnancy pillow. I like my regular pillow under my head so I only use half of it (there are velcro pieces). It really helps with my hips/back.

  • I am a tummy sleeper and am having the worst time getting comfy, our bed is tiny so not much room for an extra pillow...every time I try one he gets all mad...once he every threw it across the room because he was grumpy after a long week at work.  So now I have been using the square little deco pillow that came with our bed set, I place it partially under my belly so that my belly has a place to rest and so that I sort of stay on my side.  Not sure how things will go when I get bigger and really need to find a way to get comfy, I am thinking the couch will work nicely for the DH!!

  • I bought the Snoogle last week since it was recommended by a couple of my friends who had been pregnant in the past few years. I'm really liking it so far because I can use it a couple of ways and when the belly gets bigger it seems like it will definitely help support it :).
