Babies: 6 - 9 Months

OMG, my kid is killing me today!!

I just want her to nap.

All she wants to do is roll around in her crib and try to crawl, which she's very close to doing, and yell. Not cry, just yell. As she's rolling around, she's constantly getting her leg stuck, even with the bumper and sleep sack, so she gets pissed off about that. I finally gave up and brought her downstairs, and now she's in her PNP bassinet peeking over the top staring at me as she rocks back and forth and yells at the dog. I actually think she might break it, she's rocking so hard. She's been up since 7:30 and has yet to nap for more than 20 min.

I think I need iced coffee.

  • Get some coffee stat! Then, take a breath and be positive. She's just so excited that she can almost crawl that she can't contain herself! At least she's entertaining herself somewhat, right? Hopefully caffeine helps you get through the rest of the day :)

  • Thanks :) i'm really excited that she's learning something new, I'm always so happy when that happens. It's just really hard when I need her to nap because it distracts her. Even if I try NTS she keeps getting preoccupied with the ceiling lamp. Apparently it's quite enthralling.
  • Lol, DS had a day like that yesterday. He was yelling up a storm, but it wasn't crying or a mad yell. I think he's just finding his voice when he does that. He also refused to nap, and when I'd lay him in his crib he'd kick the crap out of his aquarium and yell. Then when I'd poke my head in he'd look at me and giggle. Today he's napping great, though, currently on nap #2, and over an hour so far. Hopefully tomorrow will be better for you!

The ceiling lamp's entertainment value has been lost on the majority of this country and I think it's wonderful to see our youth appreciating it so. LOL
  • The PNP bassinette has a weight limit, most are 15 lbs so you might check that.  Otherwise, we're in the same situation.  I tried laying down with him and he thought punching me in the face was more fun than naptime!

Haha, DD loves punching DH and me in the face when she gets excited. She also likes to pull my hair and pull my glasses off.

She's just about at the limit for the PNP, but honestly, she's more likely the make the whole damn thing collapse with her rocking, so I should probably just take the bassinet part out. It sucks, that's kind of been our changing station downstairs, so I guess we'll have to find a new one.

It amazes me how much she loves it. She stopped nursing 5 or 6 times just to look at it, finally I just put her down for a bit because I figured she wasn't really hungry if she was more interested in the lamp than the boob.
