I had this on my list when I was pregnant with DD, but discarded it because I think the NN Ronnie is dreadful. I love the full name though. WDYT--is it list-worthy?
Any similar names you can suggest? This is just for fun right now.

Re: Veronica- S/O nicknames
Victoria
Valerie
Monica
I love Veronica, but I'm with ya on Ronnie. That NN sucks. I think you can stress the full name; I don't think Veronica is one of those names where the NN is just inevitable (like it is for Joshua or Christopher).
That said, the NN was one of the reasons I preferred Monica to Veronica for DD1.
Thanks for all of the replies.
We wouldn't need a NN-- I just don't like Ronnie. I am glad to hear that wasn't the first NN that some of you thought of.

I've heard of Vera as a NN, although I'm not a fan. I also considered Nica as a NN. I think Josephine and Veronica are lovely together.
Good question. I would say about 75% of the time we call DD Josie. I do like the flexability of a NN.

I'm sure there are other people who have heard of it, but I certainly haven't and I don't think I'm the only one. I think it's safe to assume that Ronnie is not prolific - you certainly should be able to get people to call your daughter Veronica if that's what you want. Don't discard it just because you don't like Ronnie.
FWIW, I have had no problems getting my boys called by their full names and their names have obvious NN. I never think a bad NN is a good reason to discard the full name. In my experience, it's just not the case that the NN sticks when then parents use the full name. GL!
