Anyone have experience with some of the online SAHM jobs? The little girl I was babysitting is moving, so I'm looking for a little extra cash to make up for what they paid me. I'm open to any suggestions and success stories! Thanks!
I'm a hairdresser. I only work weekends at the salon. It's against my license to work from home unless I get an establishment license and follow the state laws for an 'in-home' salon.
and a lot of them are scams! one actually asked for your bank account info... I was like wow.
It's hard for me to get a job with my hubby working the hours he does. He's a chef! So he's gone 65-70 hours a week! It's crazy! I only have Monday to work... Who will hire me to work Mondays only? haha no one.
Do you have a flexible schedule to work around your hubby?
My uncle has been working for Pizza Hut since 2008 taking call in orders. He's in Colorado but fields calls from many states. This is how it works, you call the local number and its rerouted to his computer and headset. He takes your order and name and he places the order to the correct location online. I do not know how much he makes, what the hours are like, or if they supply any of the equipment.
I think a lot of places now do this but its not advertised. You'll probably need to go directly to some chains websites and check out their career center.
There are actually a lot of legit work at home jobs. Several companies have telecommuting opportunities but like pp said they don't always advertise it. Some I know of are West At Home, JetBlue, American Express, 1 800 Flowers.
Do you have any writing skills? There are always publications and websites looking for freelance writers and bloggers.

I work from home doing Spanish/English translating. If you are fluent in another language its a great way to make $$
I love my job, I tutor for Tutor.com. I don't even have to sign up for hours ahead of time I just log in whenever I want for however long I want. I do this during naps and every night when LO goes to bed. Slow during the summer but during the school year it's plenty busy. It's just a program you download to your desktop (after application and hiring process) then you sign in and they connect you to students and you use a chat window & whiteboard (voice too if you'd like) to answer students questions.
I have been selling Scentsy as an Independent Consultant, the first month was pretty lousy but once I got into it and started to advertise myself I made some money on the side. I am working towards being a SAHM by January! If you want to know about it I can help you get into it..

Can I ask for more details? Currently I'm teaching for an online Cyber Charter School, but it puts a lot of demands on my time with LO, and I still have to have someone come in to hang out with her. I can't be flexible, or be with her as much as I want. Do you mind me asking about how much an hour?? How you signed up for this job etc?

Do you need a PA certification to teach at Cyber Charter School? I've been looking for online teaching positions. Is it more flexible than a traditional school? I'm looking for something that when my kids are school aged I can drop them off or take of an hour or two to attend a school event.

If you go online to tutor.com/apply you can check out their applicatoin process. Now is a great time, they always hire new people before the school year starts. You get in easier if you tutor a subject they're low on staff for. You basically have to pass a 25ish question test on that subject to qualify to tutor it. You do a practice/interview session with someone for them to make sure you understand the software. My goal is to tutor 1 hour a day whether at naps or night. If I stick to that I make roughly $400/month. You get paid monthly. They always want us to refer people so feel free to list me as a referral person--ryan jackson. GL! Let me know if you have more questions.
Sorry if I over simplified it, bad wording on my part. I'm not saying that's all you have to do, we have teaching certificates people. You need to have an advanced degree, teaching certificate or so many hours of college towards a teaching degree. Plus just like any job you need to give them a resume showing experience and letters of recommendation.
It's just my major is Math. I haven't done Calculus in awhile though so clearly I couldn't pass that test. It's to narrow it down so for example I tutor Elementary Math, Middle Math, Algebra, & Geometry. The test is only 1 part of the application process.

Yes, I am a fully qualified teacher with my PA teaching certificate and degree in education. Its flexible to some extent... I am lucky in that my school allows me to teach from home, whereas others require you to go to their "office" to work. I teach 4 classes a day (9, 10, 11 and 1) and use any time from 8-4 to do other work, call parents etc. It is a lot of work, but its rewarding in that I am home with her, and I don't have to grade papers, and lesson plans at night. I was looking for something a little more flexible, where I could only work a few hours a day or work around her schedule, but still make a steady paycheck. If LO needs me, and its not during class time, I can tend to her; we spend lunchtime together, and I am there to put her down for naps. The problem is, she is such a busy girl and sitting by herself playing, is not what she wants right now. Hope that helps!
