In my local area we have a kids clothes/toys swap 3x/yr. You bring what you don't need anymore, pay $5 to get in, and take what you need. The organization is called peace.love.swap. Their main site is under construction right now, but most local chapters have a facebook page so if you google you should be able to find out if there is one in your area. (You can also start your own.)

The last one here was on Saturday and I got all this:

That's 17 tops, 2 pairs of shorts, 1 pair of swim trunks, 1 rash guard shirt, 3 rompers, a few pair of pants, 2 sweaters, overalls, 2 sweater vests and two coats (plus a few toys). Brands included Children's Place, Baby Gap, Izod, OshKosh, and Gymboree (plus Carters, of course). For FIVE DOLLARS!

I was also lurking on J12 and saw someone post about Thredup.com which is an online consignment store. Apparently you can consign your baby clothes (size 12 mo and up) there and they pay more than Once Upon a Child. Plus of course you can buy stuff.

Anyone else got any good places to get cheap clothes?

Wow!! That is a great deal! We have JBF (Just Between Friends) sales around here. https://twincities.jbfsale.com/homeView.jsp People tag all of their clothes, toys, books, jackets, blankets, feeding stuff....basically anything baby/toddler for sale. It is organized so well! They have a sale coming up and it will all be long sleeved - fall and winter clothes. I can usually walk out of there with a garbage bag or 2 full of stuff for under $100.

After baby number 2, we will sell our stuff too.

Thredup is awesome! I've never even heard of it, but they have JCrew dresses for $30! That's unheard of, usually.

I belong to a few local mom-to-mom groups on FB. I've had a few bad experiences, but the good outweigh the bad. I just sold three bags of G's 9 month clothes for $75...not too shabby! We're planning on a #2 in a few years, but until then I'm not going to cart around boxes and boxes of clothes. Clothes are easy (and cheap) enough to buy during off seasons and clearance. I don't think I've ever spent over $50 on one wardrobe size for him...so it'd be NBD to do the same for #2.

That's a great deal! I usually just shop at the outlets. They're a consignment store, Little Lords & Ladies that I've heard great things about. I haven't been because I always get such great deals on his clothes from the outlet.

I shop at a used kids items store called Kid to Kid and have also sold stuff to them for credit in their store. I usually look for the name brand stuff so I feel like it is more worth it. I also browse some mom2mom groups on FB. I just got over 70 pieces of fall clothes for DS for $75. They are all brands like Baby Gap, Gymboree, polo, Carter's, and TCP and they are ALL in excellent condition.

Great idea, ladies! We go to the kids thrift/consignment stores, too, and I bought a bunch of clothes off someone on a local FB yard sale site. I have literally paid full price for ONE item of DS' wardrobe and that was a pair of jeans with suspenders that I just HAD to have.

@Crey13 Keep in mind that if you're not pre registering or registering late there might be slim pickings by the end. Not necessarily, though. I got all that and I was in Group 4 of 5. I suggest preregistering or if your chapter allows volunteers to get in first and you can do that, then it's a good way to get in early.
