Hi Tlucey, I have Kaiser (Los Angeles Med Center) - in Sunset. My appointment is not until Sept, so I cannot tell you first hand, but Dr. Lorrie Dubow was highly recommended to me. She is an OB surgeon and the recommendation came from inside Kaiser (from another health provider). In Kaiser Cadillac, I've heard great things (in other forums) about Dr Martinez (I don't know her first name). Hope this helps you somehow. I know how frustrating it can be. I recently moved from the Bay Area and left behind an amazing Dr there and it was very stressing finding a good Doc here.
Hello! I also have kaiser and will be delivering at kaiser sunset this month. My ob is Sylvia Davis and she's been great. I do want to stress however that I only found out this week that you have a very slim chance of delivering with your actual OB. Some of them don't deliver at all. Others are assigned 3, 24-hour shifts a month. She has assured me that they all have similar values, but just thought I would throw it out there because I wish I would have known this sooner. It was disappointing.
I delivered at Kaiser Sunset two weeks ago. My regular OB is Dr. Nevarez and I was delivered by Dr. Kotel. Both are great. The labor and delivery nurses were incredible. Supportive knowledgeable, and confidence-inspiring. Postpartum care was less reliable.
I'll be delivering at Woodland Hills. I'll see this new OB Wed., Dr. Martin. I've never had a male OB before.. but after having DD and an emergency c-section... modesty flew out the window so I don't seem to care at this point. I just want a connection and feel like they care.
I'm at Kaiser Woodland Hills and I feel your pain. It took me awhile to find a good OB there so I opted for a Midwife instead and she's wonderful her name is Angela Watson CNM. She has a wonderful bedside manner and really makes me feel like she cares. You should check her out
I delivered at Kaiser west LA (July 29th 2013). I hate doctors, and hospitals. I highly recommend it there! Dr. Leah Barlavi is amazing. She gets back to you super quick, is always there to listen, and she held my hand when my husband wasn't allowed in the room for my c-section. The nurses in the hospital were awesome. Everyone really listened. It was very nice. (if you go with WLA my only forewarning are there are a couple pediatricians i would stay away from!.. if you want more info PM me)
I have Kaiser - we live in Santa Clarita and gave birth in Panorama City. Dr. Ortega was my day to day OB and although her name escapes me, we loved our delivery doctor too. I DID meet with midwife Angela Watson along the way though and really liked her!! (we had to opt for an OB because of some health problems)
Sept 2013 started TTC#2 (never got PP period so hoping for the first egg to drop)
Jan 2014 - diagnosed POF (Premature Ovarian Failure) and told pregnancy not possible without egg donor because my ovaries would never function again with my hormone levels (FSH 136, LH 98.6, AMH <.03, estradiol 0, HCG 7) - using acupuncture, chiropractic care and TCM herbs / supplements
March 11, 2014 ovulated despite every doctors prognosis!!!
Oct 2014 hormones (FSH 48, Estradiol 89, HCG 1) not good, but heckuva lot better!
Nov. 16, 2015 FET of single adopted 5AA embryo - BFN
Re: Anyone have Kaiser? Rec. OB/GYN
You'll be in good hands. Good luck!!
