I haz a sad

I was notified by my phone that today is an old friend from work's birthday. We haven't spoken in over 2 years, basically since I stopped working. He was my best work friend and an all around good guy. I wish I could wish him a happy birthday but I no longer have his contact info. I had forgotten he was even on my calendar. ::sniff sniff meeemmmories::

    I quickly looked today but I don't think he's on there. He wasn't the most tech savvy when I knew him :)

    It's the nature of the film business: become really close to a crew because you spend so much time with each other, only to lose contact when the show is over. Still makes me sad though.

    So true.  It's very project by project.  I do contract admin in "Hollywood" too.  I'll make close client contacts, "do lunch" all the time while we're working on a show.  Then nothing unless we're on the same project again.
