Bday etiquette

I found a great park for LO bday. BUT parking is $1 per hour and they won't allow me to pre pay for all parking. How do I handle this? I don't want people having to pay for parking. But I also don't want to give up this particular location. Unfortunately there is no off site parking either.

Re: Bday etiquette

  • Here's something about that:

I like the idea of paying a teenager to stand in the parking lot and have them pay for everyone's parking who comes for the party.

  • The park has multiple entrances and there are multiple pay stations set up throughout the lot. So waiting at entrance to pay wouldn't work. I'm wondering if we went to pay station when we arrived, if we could pay multiple times and give the display stubs to people to put in car... Not sure of machines will allow multiple purchases though

  • I would give cash as people leave, as a goody bag of sorts.

I'm thinking this may be the only way. How can I do it in a cute way though? And in a way that they won't refuse it?! Cause most of them will. Maybe if I do goody bags I can attach a little card for parents with they money...?

  • Personally I don't think asking people to pay a dollar or two for parking is unreasonable. I wouldn't think twice about paying it if I attended a party at a park that I knew this was the case. I would think it was weird if someone gave me money to pay for parking. .

  • How long could a one year old's party in a park last? Four hrs tops? I wouldn't think anything of paying that.
