For those with a soother in/on the crib...

Where is your mounted?  We originally had it in the middle of the crib where she could reach it to turn it on and off.  LO has been rolling, sitting, and standing.  Last night she woke up at 430 AM - crying, sat up, tried to go back down and basically headbutted the soother.  She was OK but it worries me that she could hurt herself.   I think we should move it....just not sure where in the crib to do that and I am looking for ideas.  I don't want to get rid of it because she LOVES it.

Jack has started doing the same thing.  I don't have an answer for you but we are considering moving the mattress down soon so maybe he won't be able to roll into it anymore.  He loves his also.

And, if its really becoming an issue, have you tried the glowing seahorse.  You can leave it in the cib and its also easy for them to turn on and off.  Jack loves that one also.

The fisher price seahorse is amazing. I think Target has them for like $13. Benjamin loves his! I just leave it in the crib with him.

  • we have a stuffed giraffe with a sound machine inside, and right now it sits on the top corner of her crib (she hasn't pulled herself up while in her crib...yet). If it becomes an issue of her trying to reach it, we'll just put it down where she can.

  • I have a giraffe soother. It looks like a stuffed animal with Velcro bands in the back that I've sat in the corner of the crib. I wrap the bands around a couple of slats of the crib. LO can feel it but she can't move it from that corner.

We have the exact same thing - ours is in the middle of crib (inside) he likes to hold it's foot while sleeping. Not worried about anything happening with it, we have a video monitor that I am constantly watching! (SO thinks I am way too paranoid, maybe I am but I can't help it haha).

  • We have the glowing seahorse as well and she loves it - very easy to turn on but the music/glow doesn't last long enough.
