Lazy and not cooking?

I had off of work today and had plans to do some shopping with my sister to get last minute things to finish the nursery. After going to some stores and hanging out at my moms for a little I finally came home around 4pm. My H gets home around 6pm from work. I took some meat out and had it in a bowl to defrost. So when H gets home I was laying on the couch watching shark week feeling so tired! He usually goes to the gym everyday for about an hour and a half. He left for the gym and said "hope dinner is done when I get back!" I replied "of course!" He leaves and little do I know he is walking back in the door and I am still on the couch!!! I fell asleep! I didn't start dinner and I felt terrible! I am so tired. He was disappointed but started cooking for us.

I just feel bad that he worked all day and I was home and couldn't cook! I am just feeling extra tired lately! I'm 33 weeks.

Is anyone else feeling this tired and have stories to share?

Re: Lazy and not cooking?

  • I'm constantly this tired. I worked from 9-12 today and came home with my only things I needed to do being a load of laundry and a shower. Instead, I slept for three hours! So now I'm doing laundry. I'm 35 ish weeks and so exhausted.

  • After running errands all last Sunday we came home to do some unpacking. Instead I took a 30 min nap....

  • The last few weeks of school H would come home and find me asleep in bed at 520.  I would come home, plug in my phone and talk to my mom or my cat, and then fall asleep unexpectedly.  The first words out of my mouth were always, "I didn't make dinner."  He would just laugh at me, but he never got mad.

  • I'm exhausted, but after working 8-4 I get to entertain a spastic two year old so I don't get to take naps or anything. I will say that we've been eating a lot of sandwiches and salads or whatever else is easy, though.

  • I have been trying to make more of an effort to cook, or plan crockpot or other simple meals. We went through a major eat out phase in my second tri, bc I was so sick first tri we didn't go out in public due to my nighttime illness. It's so tempting when so many things deliver after a work day though!...
  • I think I might try the salad and sandwiches some nights . I just want some energy. Haha
  • My recommendation: The slow cooker is your friend!

I've been in the same position. Feeling exhausted from doing nothing... being tired even though I slept 9 nonconsecutive hours... and then not doing anything for DH when he comes home. I complain about myself but it's really hard to get motivated. I found myself feeling super depressed and down on me for it. He gently reminded me that I'm taking it easy for the baby and it's what my body needs. Don't stress about it, YH will be fine. I'm sure he understands, but he was just a little hungry when he got home, lol.

When I DO find an amazing burst of energy I'll take on a lot of tasks at once to make up for my laziness. Then after a couple of hours of nonstop cleaning I can finally stand myself again! Good luck!
