Can't remember Update!

Recap: Losing my mind and can't remember when Dr. said I would get the results from my NT scan.

I called on my lunch this afternoon and after what felt like forever on hold they told me my results came back normal! I think I might have to address the "no news is good news" approach with my Dr. But I am super relieved.

  • That's great!! DH and I have the same family dr, who I've been seeing until Aug 1, and at an appointment for him a few weeks after my NT scan she just casually mentioned before she left that everything looked normal. I was just thinking no news is good news, but it's definitely nice to hear the dr say it's all good!

  • I had to wait 4 weeks for my test results from the nt scan and the chromosome testing. Everything came bak normal, but it would have been nice to hear before the next appointment. Now, I am waiting to hear the test results for the spinal defects blood panel which was drawn at 16 weeks. I assume its normal since I haven't heard. The whole no news is good news is annoying. I think that doctors tend to forget how nerve wracking it is for the patient.

  • I actually had the opposite experience, though not pregnancy related. I had a weird mole on my back, went to see my dermatologist and she took a sliver to sample. A week later, I see three missed calls from her office on my phone, so I'm freaking out as I call back, and she's just as perky as could be, "Everything's in the clear!"

  • My OB office schedules the u/s with the OB appointment immediately following. That way, the u/s tech will go over things that she sees (I never had any major issues, besides my placenta over my cervix), then has a chance to talk to the dr, and the dr goes over the u/s results again. None of that is the genetic testing, though, just the "normal" 20-week-ish ultrasound. The dr, not the tech, went over how the baby was measuring and a few other things.

    Our u/s techs are awesome!

  • @mrsgraham06 I think we were just in awe of our first ultrasound that we forgot to ask a lot of the questions we had in mind, and our tech wasn't super informative.

Thanks ladies, I wish we had an ob that scheduled in along side our perinatal appts. I might check in on it next time but realistically we really only should have one maybe two more u/s total. How is time flying so fast?
