Ten Things

1. Got a haircut this morning and I feel like a new woman.

2. I had to pump at a family friend's house and when she took the bottle to refrigerate, she said "Only this little bit?!"

3. In that moment, I wanted to punch her.

4. My MIL constantly asks for something when she comes over; to take a couple of our bottles of wine home, to share in our meal if she's interrupting dinner, etc.Just another reason I can't stand her.

5. I thought caffeine was the culprit, but LO still fights sleep even though I cut it out weeks ago, so I'm going back to my daily cup of coffee.

6. I'm making homemade chicken nuggets tonight.

7. I can't wait for the local seafood festival.

8. I wish posts on TB still listed in reverse chronological order instead of most recently replied to.

9. I'm going to dye my hair black.

10. I'm scared that when I do #9 LO won't recognize me.

Re: Ten Things

  • 1. I'm counting down to my last day of work. I have zero motivation.

    2. I've been spotting some the last few days and it makes me so mad at DH for telling everyone we're pregnant so early on.

    3. I think I'll cook dinner tonight. That hasn't happened in a few days.

    4. I am so sad that summer is about over. I feel like I totally missed it.

    5. I'm tired and need some sleep.

    6. LO has a cold and has been super clingy. I don't mind the extra snuggles but I can't do anything else.

    7. I have a friend coming to town for a wedding with a baby the same age as LO. I offered to babysit. Am I crazy?

    8. I somehow got volunteered to help throw a baby shower. I *hate* baby showers.

    9. As happy as I am about quitting my job, I hope they regret losing me.

    10. I would love some apple pie right now.

  • 1. Madison rolled over twice yesterday and I finally saw it. Other times she did it while I wasn't looking.

    2. She also laughed and threw me off guard I started crying and yelled for DH to come in the room and he heard her, he grinned and kept trying to make her laugh more.

    3. I made coffee this morning and haven't done that in a while and it felt so nice and it was yummy :)

    4. DH bought new creamers for me and they are both Girl Scout creamers thin mint and caramel delight, I'm addicted.

    5. I now realize how much I hate periods.

    6. I cannot wait until the weekend.

    7. My SIL and her family left for Germany on Sunday for 3 years, I'm going to miss them :/

    8. Bright side: they should be back for Christmas or New Years.

    9. I also got a chance to color my hair, it does feel good.

    10. And DD is waking up from her nap, so it is time to go lol

  • 1. I have less than 2 weeks until I go back to work. I'm feeling a mixture of dread and excitement. I know that it will turn to 100% dread the day before.

    2. I really hope I can keep BF once I return to work. I still don't know where I will be pumping. I only have 50 ounces frozen because I haven't been pumping all that much, so that will not last long.

    3. LO has been STTN (9 pm-7 am) the last 2 nights. I haven't gotten up to pump, I know my supply could suffer, but I really do not want to get up.

    4. I'm tired anyway, even though sttn with LO, so I should probably just get up to pump.

    5. I'm reading the Harry Potter series for the 2nd time. It's every bit as good as the first time through. I also did this with the Twilight Series and the Hunger Games series LOL. I don't know why I'm reluctant to move on to other books. I just really like "living" at Hogwarts and in Forks and who doesn't love Katniss???

    6. Now you gals know how dorky I really am.

    7. My DD1 is a total tomboy. She loves superheroes and "boy" stuff and I love her all the more for it. Part of me wonders if I've "made" her that way. I've never even painted her nails :(

    8. Part of the reason I've never painted DD's nails is that I hate chemicals and I hate the thought of nail polish/nail polish remover on her.

    9. DD starts KG in 1 month. I haven't done any school shopping. I need to get on that asap.

    10. I find myself flashing back to my elementary school years with DD1's step into that world quickly approaching and I'm so worried about the bullying and everything and how it's so hard to just be a sweet kid once you've crossed over the preschool line. I worry that I won't know how to give her the things she needs to be confident and strong, but also popular, if that's what she wants.

  • 1. Sha.ye , I swear she said "mama" the other day. I got it on video but can't figure out how to post it?!

    2. My DH comes home in the next couple days , very excited!!

    3. He is switching jobs and put in his 2 weeks yesterday. I'm excited and nervous to see how this new job is going to work out.

    4. I can't help but compare my daughters to each other. DD1 rolled over at 6 weeks. DD2 has no interest in rolling over whatsoever.

    5. Sha.ye will only nurse from one side . The other is pretty much dried up... My boobs look awesome... :/

    6. I'm so sick of finding scorpions in my house. Those things are like every night mare you've ever had all put into one sick twisted little creature.

    7. I'm seriously over the bleeding from my Mirena that I got inserted a month ago.

    8. My childhood best friend went in Sunday to be induced with her twin boys. She made it to 39 weeks and I'm waiting to hear if she's had them yet. Poor thing was miserable!

    9. I just went to go help DD1 wipe her butt after pooping, and just got splashed in the face with her toilet water... Thank God I was wearing my glasses..

    10. I'm seriously getting pissed off that my FIL and uncle-in-law haven't come to see DD2 yet... We have helped them out so many times , including letting them live with us for years, rent free and helped pay some of their debt off. They live 45 mins away and have not even attempted to come see us.

  • 1. I feel like I'm finally getting into a routine with work, baby, husband... but it's exhausting.
    2. Now that I'm back at work, I realize I could never been a SAH mom. That said... part-time would be perfect, but won't pay the bills.
    3. I curse my graduate degree. That's the reason I need to work so much. I wish I could go back and SMACK 25 year old self who thought it was a good idea.
    4. BUT... if I didn't move for grad school, I probably wouldn't be with my husband, or have LO... so things happen for a reason.
    5. I don't usually dwell on past decisions like that, but sometimes it feels good to vent.
    6. I really need to shed this baby weight.
    7. Elastic waist pants / skirts are not good for reminding me I need to lose weight.
    8. BUT the pants I bought before I went back to work are now too big - which is kind of annoying, because my wardrobe is super limited these days.
    9. My parents are coming to visit soon. They haven't seen LO since he was born, which is crazy to me. I'm kind of annoyed by it, but I know they were busy this summer, since they were moving, and it's not like we live next door (we're 1500 miles away)
    10. If my H said today that he wanted to move to be closer to family, I wouldn't argue. But he won't. And that's fine. I'm usually okay with it.

I feel you on this one! My oldest did go to preschool for 2 years but I think at that age it is easier for kids to get along. The first year she did have an issue with a bully but I talked to the teacher and we got that fixed. I'm nervous for her to be in a school 5th graders. I mean she is little still and they are so big! She goes back next week and the more I think about it the worse I feel.
*Hugs* At least you're not alone. Maybe we need a school age kids check in LOL.

DD went to daycare/preschool for the past 2.5 years, so i know she'll be somewhat equipped to handle kindergarten and the kids that come with it, but yes, I think it will be totally different than preschool. For 1 thing, the teacher to kid ratio at preschool is 6-8 kids:1 teacher. In elementary school, it's going to be 25ish kids:1 teacher. So they won't be able to see things happening as often. DD is a bit of a "tattler" though- so I can't imagine something would be going on for too long before we'd know about it.

    1. C has been on prevacid for one week now and the improvement has been minimal. I spent all morning trying to get her to eat and I'm worried she will be like this for the remainder of BFing. She won't take bottles so I'm afraid she'll starve.

    2. There is an SVU marathon on today and it makes me happy.

    3. I don't like leaving the house with C because I'm afraid she won't eat while we're out

    4. Hubby brought flowers home the other day because I was stressed. He is amazing.

     5. My friend just had her baby and I'm pumped that C will have a friend that is just 3 months younger!

    6. My neighbors had a baby 2 weeks ago...another little friend for C!

    7. C hasn't had a blowout in a couple days...just a few splatters. I am terrified to see how this ends!

     8. Our new exersaucer is amazing.

    9. I think C is going through a sleep regression. She didn't sleep for longer than 3 hours at a stretch last night and I am dead tired.

    10. C has decided she doesn't like being on her tummy and rolls over as soon as we put her down. She is getting so good at it! She still shows no interest in rolling back to front though, so we'll see when that happens.

  • 1. My LO had a low grade fever last night so we went to bed earlier than usual and we've been snuggling for 14 hours.

    2. I was supposed to start work today but over the weekend my dad fired me. (It's a family owned business)

    3. I'm sure he'll apologize and want me back soon enough but I'm not so sure I will accept it and go back.

    4. If I don't go back we will be struggling since we can't afford for me to stay home.

    5. I haven't been eating as healthy as I should be. I think I'm going to ask DH to pick up McD's on his way home...

    6. My little girl has been wearing boy PJs to bed recently because they are Carters fleece footed sleepers I got on clearance for $2.00/each.

    7. The PPs made me realize I miss coffee with flavored creamers. I think I'm going to pick some up. I drink regular coke without it making L fussy so hopefully coffee will be okay too.

    8. My MIL & FIL made an offer on a cabin upnorth and I'm hoping they get a response soon because I would love to go and get away from my family drama.

    9. I wish I still lived in Florida. I feel like there isn't much to do here in the mitten.

    10. Coming up with 10 things was difficult today!

    1. My DD is sleeping 5 to 6 hours every night which is wonderful and I feel like a new person.
    2. Our LO now weighs 9 lbs 6 and a half oz!
    3. She is out of newborn diapers and in size 1!!! You don't even know how excited that makes me.
    4. She is still in newborn clothes though because the 0 to 3 months are still a little big.
    5. I went back to weight watchers - I'm a lifetime member even though everyone keeps telling me I'm way to skinny.
    6. I joked with my MIL about joining weight watchers with me BC everyone tells her she got heavy and she joined with me. I'm hoping our relationship will get better.
    7. In definitely not looking forward to going back to work and not ring able to spend my days with my LO.
    8. I feel like I neglect my dogs because they look so sad even when I play with them.
    9. I find myself wanting to cook but I don't know what to make.
    10. I absolutely love watching my LO interact with my family especially my niece and nephew.
  • 1. I haven't done much today except play with LO.

2.I go back to work one week from today and am dreading it (probably contributing to #1)

    3. LO still hasn't rolled over. I can't decide if I should be worried.

    4. I am sleepy today.

    5. Tomorrow is DHs bday. Still haven't gotten him a gift.

  • 1. I'm still in maternity clothes because I still have 15lbs to shed :((

    2. I think about food all the time.

    3. I think it's really hard to be a SAHM. I find it more exhausting than working. Then again the grass is not greener on either side.

    4. I still haven't had a glass of wine. I've had a few sips but I'm scared I won't hear LO if I have one. I'm a lightweight with alcohol.

    5. We have a holiday booked for October and I can't wait!

    6. My mum has been great in trying to make sure she sees all the grandchildren equally so that they don't sense favouritism. I love her for this.

    7. I really want to chop all my hair off. I can understand now why new mums cut their hair. I just don't have the time to mess on with it anymore.

    8. I can't wait to sell our house. It's a lovely place but it's an expensive beast to run.

    9. I worry about all the bees dying.

Don't be worried. Most babies start rolling over around 4 months. Some much earlier ( see my 10 things ). Some later than 4 months. It will happen when he is ready. DD2 is 14 weeks and has not yet, I'm not worried in the least:)

    1. I got to see my two best friends yesterday for the first time since Logan was born. I'm glad they got to meet him but he was having a really bad day and pretty much cried the entire 2 hours we were there. He refused to nap yesterday and when we got there he was going on six hours without a nap. Because of this, the next time I see my friends I want to leave DS with DH.

     2. I HATE living 50 miles from all our family and friends. When we got married five years ago we moved up here because the housing was much more affordable, we liked the area, and we didn't think the commute was that bad. Also we were fresh out of college and figured we would find work up here. That was dumb. Now we both work back home and we want to move back. I've been wanting to move for over a year, but we have a lot of clutter and a bunch of stuff to sort through before we can start talking to a realtor. I'm mad at myself for not accomplishing more before Logan got here, but I underestimated how exhausted I would be during pregnancy.

     3. I feel like instead of enjoying time with Logan I'm constantly trying to clean up so we can sell. On weekends I basically hand the baby over to DH while I try to go through stuff. It's hard to do that during the week because by the time DH gets home it's time to eat dinner, then Logan starts cluster feeding, and then before you know it it's time for his bath and bedtime. So it took three weekends to go through just my closet. I'm making progress but its so slow.

     4. Because I am always taking care of the baby or trying to clean, I'm really not eating right at all and haven't exercised at all. I was about 30 lbs overweight before I was pregnant and now I have 25 more to lose on top of that. I feel like crap and my knees are starting to hurt, which scares me. But I feel like I don't have time to eat healthy meals, log my calories (the only way that works for me to lose weight) and exercise when I have all this other stuff going on.

5.I feel like I'm not handling motherhood very well. After reading the brag thread it sees like everyone else is adjusting to living with a baby (going on errands, going to work, making dinner). I never venture out of the house except if DH can help with Logan and I'm so sick of being home all the time. ( I don't go back to work until January). I don't want to go very far if its just me and the baby so I have no where to go since we have no friends or family here. I need something from Target and I may go today instead of waiting until the weekend. We'll see.

    6. The dogs are barking at every.little.noise. and they keep waking up the baby! Ugh!

    7. Logan started rolling over a few days ago (back to front) and he laughed for the first time two nights ago!

    8. I dread every time I take Logan to visit family and friends because with the long drive it makes all the visits long and he won't nap much away from home. He also cries in the car seat 75% of the time. I think he needs a lot of structure and when we go out it throws him off his routine so he gets extra fussy. But then I feel guilty the grandparents don't see him enough. And we have three sets to visit since DH's parents are divorced and remarried. They can't come up here because one of our dogs barks constantly and pees everywhere when he's around people he doesn't know.

    9. When we finally do list our house I'm worried because I think we'll have to move in with my parents while we try to sell it. They have two dogs too so it will be four barking dogs all together and I'm worried Logan will never sleep. I don't think we can afford to pay our mortgage and rent at the same time. Sigh.

    10. My ten things is really long and depressing. Sorry :/

You sound stressed! Take a deep breath. You will get through it. Why do you have to move when your house is for sale? Can't you continue to live there and just keep it up? Maybe it would be easier if the in-laws take the dogs for a while but you guys stay in the house?
I feel like we'd have to move because I don't know how people will come to look at the house if we're there. If it was just me and DH, we could put the dogs in the car and disappear for awhile if someone wants to look. But what if someone wants to come and I'm in the middle of feeding him or he's taking a nap? I know you can say people can only make appointments but I worry we'd miss out on potential buyers. I don't know how common it is to not have your house available immediately to be seen.

You can make that a requirement when your list your home- by appointment only. I think you could potentially miss out on buyers that way- but I COMPLETELY understand where you are coming from. I would probably want to move while trying to sell also, if I had a young baby at home.

  • 1. I have to go back to work in 2 weeks. I'm dreading it.

    2. I'm amazed at how often LO eats- makes it difficult to do things with her outside of the house, although we try.

    3. I feel guilty that LO will have to go to daycare.

    4. I'm trying to figure out what I'm eating that is making LO so gassy.

    5. As much as I was having second thoughts about breastfeeding, I'm glad we stuck with it.

    6. I hate that I still have a belly pooch.

    7. I love seeing my DH with our LO.

9.i can't seem to tell the difference between LO putting her hand in her mouth due to hunger and putting it in there to self-soothe.

    10. I'm always tired!

  • 1. I hate that I can't see signatures on mobile, and therefor ages... What's with all this rolling?

    2. When I stopped giving G bottles of breast milk, I forgot to start giving him Vitamin D in another way. Mom fail.

    3. It's less than 3 weeks until we move into our new house, and I'm nervous and excited.

    4. The worry post made me worry more. Lol.

    5. G's morning gas pains are so sad. He cries out, sheds real tears, toots, and then relaxes. Over and over for at least an hour. I hate that I don't know how to fix it for him.

    6. I walked the steep hill in our neighborhood last night... It was easier when I was 37 weeks pregnant! Darn c-section. Hmph.

    7. I was really proud when I got to the top, even though I was huffing and puffing and dripping. G was not impressed. :-P

    8. I sold G's infant Ergo insert. It was my first "He's too big for it" sale. Cue the tears. I also had to go through his clothes and figure out what he's outgrown. So sad!

    9. I can't wait to go to Legoland with my nephew when he visits in October.

    10. I also feel like I missed summer, and I'm wishing we lived somewhere with fall colors. And cider festivals.

Are you formula feeding now? Our doctor told us we needed the vitamin D drops when I was BFing but now that I'm FFing I don't think we need the extra.
No, I just stopped pumping and bottle feeding when the thrush got better.

I forget to give them their vitamin D drops at least every third day.

    8. I wish posts on TB still listed in reverse chronological order instead of most recently replied to.
    Me too!

    1. I gained 3.5 lbs this week.

    2. I gained said lbs due to PMS. Yuck.

    3. I am so relieved LO has settled into a good sleep routine.

    4. Yesterday LO slept from 8am to noon at DC and the provider took his temp because she was worried he was sick! Nope he is just really tired this week.

    5. We are meeting with a financial adviser on Saturday. I am relieved to be doing it but also nervous! It's bad enough when our accountant looks at our finances but now we just have one more person knowing our business.

    6. I am in the middle of a yucky work issue. My boss wants to terminate one of my employees and I agree she doesn't have the skills for the job, but ugh I hate the though of firing her and going without the position. I hate having to fire people generally - I feel so guilty.

    7. I feel like the summer is pretty much done and I haven't been outside at all.

    8. DH keeps bugging to go to the beach but he doesn't realize how much of our budget now goes to daycare!

    9. I am thinking of joining Weight Watchers but I have joined before and was bad at tracking points. Don't know if I have a better mindset for it now or if I should just lose weight the way I have done in the past - by counting calories.

    10. Since I weaned E off BFing this week I integrated caffeine back into my diet. So far I think it has just given me a headache so I think I'm switching back to decaf.

    I'm not pregnant :)

    I was scared shitless

I bought K ruby slippers to celebrate

She pooped all over my bed to show her appreciation.

Exact reason why one baby is enough

    Baking peanut butter cookies tonight

Don't wanna go to a family bbq Saturday, thinking about ditching.

My mom still hasn't bothered to meet K.

DH is driving me crazy, but it's kinda my fault I've spoiled him our entire marriage, and Niure he doesn't know how to do things himself. It's like having two kids sometimes.

I've nothing else so here's those ruby slippers.

Congrats again on not being pregnant since its what you wanted.

Thanks for showing the ruby slippers (adorable) instead of the appreciation poop. :)
