Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

when you know too much. . .

here is the downfall of the internet, speaking to people who have been through this too (like this board), and just being curious about what your body is going through . . . .there are moments you feel like you know too much, or know better than your doctor. I know this sounds ridiculous - but here's the story (many of you know) -- I just finished 10 day provera prescription b/c my AF has not shown up (miscarriage was 10/10) . .. doctor said if AF not here by day 10 (10 pills), call office. After lots of research (including info from the pharmacy), and the experiences of everyone on this board, the consensus seems to be AF shows up 2-5 days AFTER stopping pills. . . .my MD wants me to come in to office Friday to do blood work and start birth control (exactly what I don't want . . .I want to TTC again if I could get back on track) . . .when I am hoping my AF is just going to show this week. . ..I'm NOT saying I know more than my doctor, and ALL I want is to be healthy and back on track . .. I am just frustrated AGAIN by process, another MD appointment, another blood test.

ugh, TIA for letting me vent like that. i feel better.

Re: when you know too much. . .

  • GL with getting AF. A lot of us are waiting for her. If you ever feel like your dr isn't doing what you would like, you could ask for a second opinion. I hope you are ttc again very shortly! ::hugs::

  • I appreciate the response . . . .I actually really love my doctor and their practice - I am just frustrated with process and sometimes the board is the best place to vent!

I think it's actually a gift to know too much -- meaning I have been able to ask MD the right questions, etc. -- much of it learned on here by all of you wise women!
