Babies: 6 - 9 Months

At what age

can LOs start using Motrin? DS is teething BADLY now to the point that only Tylenol seems to help. I hate giving him Tylenol all the time. I'd like to be able to alternate the Motrin and Tylenol but can't remember when the pedi gives the OK.

  • Our pedi really only wants us using Tylenol, and even then, he isn't that crazy about it. But I believe it's 6 months. And BTW, your siggy is beautiful!

  • our pedi gave us the go ahead for motrin/ibuprofen at our 6 month checkup. He actually recommended it because it lasts 6 hours instead of 4 so you're not redosing LO all day.

  • 6 months here as well.  When they're in pain, ibuprofen is typically better than acetaminophen because it reduces inflammation and acetominophen (Tylenol) doesn't.
