Pre-baby deep clean - Yourself or hire out?

So who's attempting to give their house a thorough clean before baby by yourself? Or are you hiring someone to come and do it. Cleaning is exhausting. It would be fine if it wasn't so much bending down/squatting.

I'm thinking of hiring it out. I attempted to start this weekend. With the lack of help and my back killing me I got fed up and went shopping. And I'm not a shopper, I hate shopping. But anything was better than sitting in a dirty house or having to clean it

I told my mom early on that I wanted someone (to hire) to come deep clean my house before Jacob comes. She kindly stepped in and said I'll definitely do that for you! She's doing a little at a time which is fine with me.

But I think after little man is here I may hire someone to come deep clean my house once a month. I'm lazy when it comes time to deep cleaning and so is my husband. I know it'll get worse after I have a baby.

I wish we could hire someone! My husband and I are focusing on cleaning this week. We are doing one room a day so it's not that bad but I need frequent breaks in order to get anything done.

We've been deep cleaning and de-cluttering a lot because our house is for sale and has to look good for showings. It's such a pain, literally. It really is so hard to get up and down, squat, etc. I do love the results though. I'm sure it will be trashed within 5 minutes of returning from the hospital, plus I'm nervous about how much mess DH and DS will make while I'm in the hospital.

We had someone clean the house before we moved in last week, and we're planning on having them come back in early Sept as well for one last pre-baby (hopefully) clean.

We just did a pretty good clean on Sunday, but plan on doing one more before the baby comes. I'm a huge neat freak so I tend to keep up on this regularly anyways.

I have a friend that cleans houses and she said that its best if we wait and have someone come clean a month or so after baby is born because nesting will have kicked in and we will just re-clean what we just paid someone to clean for us and there will be little things that we won't have time to do (baseboards, etc) that we'll appreciate more then.

My mom and BFF have offered to come help me clean this week. I am trying to do some pre-cleaning in between BH's because some things are so gross I don't want them to see them at their dirtiest. Seriously haven't scrubbed the bottom of my tub all summer because I can't reach it.

I really wish I could hire someone but dh is very much against it. But of course he's not the one doing the cleaning and doesn't really care. He's happy if things are picked up but doesn't see the need for scrub downs or anything. I have to take so many breaks when cleaning now. Maybe if I make him do it he'll change his mind... but then I feel guilty because he worked hard all day and I've been at home.

DH is going to hire a cleaning lady to come before the baby comes and at least once after the baby comes. I really can't do the deep cleaning anymore. I tried to clean the bath tub but it is a jacuzzi tub and I can't reach the bottom of the tub anymore. DH tried to do it and it just wasn't good enough.

We were going to have someone come in and shampoo our carpet, but since we technically only have a room and a half with carpet, we're just going to do it. Everything else, we're just going to do ourselves.

Definitely hiring out. My aunt bought us a couple of groupons for house cleaning services so DH will have someone come out and clean while we are at the hospital. That way we come home to a nice clean house. I will save the other 3 for once I'm home with the baby and too exhausted to clean.

If i even remotely felt like it, I would! I feel like total poo ALL THE TIME though, so I will probably just get the house picked up and hire out a service to do the deep cleaning.

If I asked my mom to come help, she would just sit on the couch swinging her foot around (in relaxation mode) and asking me what's for dinner!

MIL would have her nostrils flared in disgust at my little mess here and the obvious fact that I haven't deep cleaned in...well, a while!

I'm doing most of it; what i can't do dh will. I'm unemployed, so i have the time (and not the money) to do it, and i'm just taking it slowly when i need to.

Usually you can get deals. If you only get floors and bathrooms, at least around here it's only like $100 depending on the size of your home.

I'm anal about cleanliness and organization so my house is always being resorted and I deep clean 1-2 times a week. It's exhausting but I will lose my mind if I can't do it. I plan to continue my routine until after baby arrives and then hire someone biweekly. I think between DH and myself we can do it ourselves biweekly so I think this plan is good.

I told DH last week that I wanted to hire someone to do a deep clean and he was annoyed at the idea that we wouldn't just do it. I told him it was because I want someone to do a DEEP clean, and I don't want to do it (honestly). Saturday morning he was on his hands and knees scrubbing the kitchen floor, pulling out the fridge and oven to clean behind and around them, and scrubbing down the surfaces. I hope the bathrooms are next weekend!

the extent of my cleaning is puting dishes in the dishwasher...

I do have someone coming in bi-weekly to do the major stuff like floors and dusting and beyond that I just dont care anymore. It is what it is
