Hey, everyone!
I haven't been on much lately. I had to take a break from Dr Google and other baby stuff because my nerves have been uneasy.
Had to make a trip to the ER two weeks ago at 10 wks with heavy bleeding and severe cramping; I was sure it was "the end" but thankfully LO is still dancing around like crazy and measuring right on track with a very healthy heart rate. Cervical length was long and closed. They kept me for observation in the ER for a few hours because my blood pressure also dropped to 88/50. I got a bag of IV fluids and the bp came back up after awhile and I was just wanting to go home by then. They gave me a Rhogam shot since I am O neg and my Dr gave me orders for strict bedrest for a few days.
Trying to make a really long story short: ER u/s could not determine what was the cause of the bleeding, but I already had my 11 wk NT scan and follow up scheduled for a few days later. The NT scan showed great measurements on the nuchal fold. My Dr told me in the u/s review that they could tell I had a marginal placental previa, as well as a 6 cm sub chorionic bleed. ugh. She seemed fairly positive that since I am still so early that the placenta can somewhat grow up with my uterus as it grows with the pregnancy, but she said its also a chance it may not. She was also hopeful that the SCB would shrink but gave me instructions to be on restricted activity. I go back for another u/s follow up tomorrow and they have referred me to see a Peri next week.
So much for this being a smooth, stress-free pregnancy with a VBAC. :S ok, whining over..
Welcome to all of the new faces!
Re: Where I've been-Marginal Previa & SCB :/ (possible TMI)
I am so thrilled that our LO is still thriving. I won't lie, though, I am still worried. We were just getting ready to start telling more people, but I'm still hesitant.
I'm supposed to be taking it easy, but my older kids started back to school yesterday and I've realized how much I depend on my oldest to help me with the twins during the day the past two weeks. DH insists that I am now in bed really early to get my feet up and he puts the little kids to bed.
Best wishes to you, as well!
Yeah, I've learned in the past to stay off Dr Google. lol...
My follow up u/s and review yesterday showed no change. At least it's not worse. Baby is still measuring right on track and fetal heart rate of 165. (YAY!!) I'm still having intermittent heavy spotting and mild cramping that increases as the day progresses.
I have my first appointment with a perinatalogist next Thursday. I'm hoping to get more definitive answers from him.
The OB yesterday told me that since I have that appointment, for the most part, the peri may be the one really calling the shots and the OB's office will comply.
I will be starting the 17p injections at week 15 because of my history of PTL with all 3 previous pregnancies. I've been on Prometrium (oral) since week 5 and additional Vitamin D3 4,000 iu's per day because my labwork wasn't so great.
(I'll be 13 weeks on Saturday. I can't get tickers to load correctly for me since TB upgrade....)
