Do you still do a bottle/ cup when they wake up or do you go straight
to breakfast with a little milk to go with it? If you do the latter how
long are they up before they eat?
We still give her a morning bottle and about 15 to twenty minutes later she will have breakfast. If she is at the sitter for the day we give her a bottle of WCM before we leave and she eats breakfast around 9 there as she goes back to sleep at the sitters for about an hour once she is dropped off.
She loves to wake up and have her bottle sitting in her daddy's lap with her blankie. Honestly she would probably be fine with just breakfast and some milk to compliment it. She is just too squishy in the AM to let it go.
A month or so ago I switched from feeding him his sippy in the nursery rocking chair and gave it to him immediately upon waking (after a diaper change) downstairs in the highchair because they won't be holding him in the next room at DC. He gets really distracted seeing me make breakfast, though, and started not finishing the cup. I started feeding him in the nursery again this week to help him get used to milk and help with the transition so he wouldn't be distracted by me making food. Also I miss the snuggles. So...he still gets milk/formula first thing and then eats breakfast immediately after. He wouldn't put up with anything else I don't think. Takes after me that way.
Also @Cedenton LO loves her cups . . . loves them. She still will spill them on me if I don't watch her but they are easier for her to hold.
@countrybb1 That's great!! DD likes his but I definitely can't let him hold it really. Every time I try he dumps water/juice on his head and then looks at me like it's my fault.
Ha ha my Dad lets LO have to much flexibility with it and she has soaked him a couple of times but he won't listen to my advice so he has it coming to him. I kind of guide her with it a couple of times and then let her do it and when she starts to get bold it is back to guiding her.
We nurse around 5:00 and he wakes up around 7:00. I'm not sure what we will do when we cut that out but he has breakfast around 7:30. And it's always huge. I haven't done much milk yet because we are waiting until a year for that but he loooooves shredded wheat with whole milk, so sometimes that's breakfast.
We have been scaling down the morning bottle and scaling up solid food. Right now she gets a 2 oz bottle and then solid food, pretty soon after she gets up. Then she gets a tiny bit of fruit or something about 1.5 hours later before I take her to daycare.

DD still isn't eating a ton of solids. I offer, she's just not that interested. so we start the day with a bottle, then do some fruit/toast. she gets cherios and other snacky foods throughout the day, fruit or veggie with lunch and then a little of whatever we're eating for dinner.
I wish she'd eat more but she's just not interested.

Yep, we still do a bottle first thing in the morning (after a diaper change). He gets breakfast about an hour after his bottle. We just switched over to WCM though, so I'm thinking we need to scale back the amount of the milk so that he doesn't fill up on just milk!
About 10-15 minutes after Tristan gets up around 6 am, we change his diaper then he goes to his high chair and we give him Cheerios to munch on and a sippy cup of milk, this keeps him happy while we cook breakfast. Once breakfast is done and cooled we clean up any leftover Cheerios and he eats 1 scrambled egg and 1/2 a sausage or 1/2 strip of bacon (he won't eat a whole sausage or bacon). Then at daycare (or at home on the weekends) he has his morning snack around 9 - at school this is usually cereal, fruit and yogurt or pancake/waffle/French toast with milk.
We still do a morning bottle, though, it is mainly just so that she will stay calm while I cut up some fruit for breakfast. DD loves cups with straws, though, so hopefully transitioning her wont be too hard. She tends to like solids more than a bottle, these days.
We do morning bottle as soon as he wakes up at 7:30-8:00am. He cries like we haven't fed him in a week the entire two minutes it takes to make it so I doubt we will be getting rid of it soon. Though after his 1 year check up it will transition to WCM in a sippy.
He eats breakfast at 9:00 and a morning snack at 10:45 before his fist nap at 11:00.
