I will be (probably). I was induced last time (overdue) and then he ended up being sunny-side up and it caused my cervix to swell back to 8 (from 10) after we started pushing.
My DR is open to VBAC. I think our plan is to attempt VBAC if I go into labor naturally and it's "favorable". If I don't go into labor we'll schedule a RCS for the week after my due date. If my water breaks but I'm not going into labor or whatever,or conditions are "unfavorable to be successful, then we'll just do the RCS. I still have some questions for my doctor at our next appointment, but that's the direction we're thinking about going.
the biggest thing for success: Find someone with a high VBAC success rate. NOT ALL OB'S are as supportive as they seem at 10wks. At 35 weeks they say "can't be big baby, cant be over 40 weeks, etc etc etc."
My 2nd baby (the vbac) came at 42weeks, and she was 9lbs. I had her with a midwife who was 100% supportive.
Join your local ICAN chapter to find the truly supportive OB's. We have one here that people drive from other states to VBAC with.

Balaustine: an anthology about wanting family
I am on the fence. I had a very very difficult labor last time (induction due to pre-eclampsia starting), 34+ hours of labor that ended in an emergency c. It was incredibly emotionally exhausting and I don't think I could handle it again. My dr is very pro vbac so at this point, he says I should try for it (even though the calculator said I only have a 52% chance of success). If things head in the direction they did with my first, I won't be given the option. I had some major post complications due to being in labor so long. They also discovered that I had pregnancy induced heart damage so a stressful labor would not be good.
I also had an easy recovery (physically) from the c. I am not sure what to think and have been looking for more positive vbac stories. Most are so different from mine that I don't know what to think.
:-??
And whats up with you ladies bouncing back from a csection the day after? For days I couldnt sit up without my dh picking me up!
My midwife isnt insured for vbacs I dunno what ill do.
My first child was a nightmare to deliver progression was slow and he wouldnt turn.
My second was having issues with heart rate dropping at every contraction. Also both were 3weeks early.
Should I stick with my midwife that I love or switch to someone for a vbac? With my history would you attempt it ?
It was something the dr did - a program on the computer. He entered in all of these factors (age, reason for previous c, progression previously, I don't even remember all of them) and then it spit out a percentage. Apparently some dr built it with past data. Obviously not perfect, but it was interesting to see.
But honestly, I had the c at 8:30 pm and was walking with assistance at 2:00 am and on my own when I got up that morning. The only issue I had was being able to easily sit up on my own out of bed for a couple of weeks.
Have you had 2 c-sections? I know my dr does not like to do more than 2 and is adament that if we want a 3rd (which we don't), he wants me to do a vbac.

The one we used in the office had more questions but this is something to start.

I got a 78% for vbac.
Leanne I totally get that I wouldnt want to v-deliver a 10 lb baby. And no progression is exhausting.
