Are we the only pacifier users? I plan on taking it away in about 2 months and then using DD's strictly in her crib. It's near impossible to do now bc he constantly snatches his sister and pops it straight into his mouth.
DD gets hers at naps and at bed, occasionally in the car (often because car rides are early morning, nap time, or bed anyway).
My goal is to have her off of it by 2. Since we are in that season where we are in the car every weekend and not at home for naps most Saturdays, I'm letting her keep it for awhile more.

My dd still has hers. She is like previous post and only gets it when it is time to sleep. She would take it with her all the time but I purposely leave it upstairs.
I thought I had broke her of it because I had bought the 18 month size and she didn't like it, but she got tired enough she eventually took it.
Oh one more thing, if we are out running around during nap time I take it. I absolutely HATE when people comment or say oh you don't need that. I had one woman pull it out of her mouth. I was furious, she was a stranger.

What the heck is wrong with people? That is so weird!
Yes! Someone actually said to me that if he can put it in his own mouth, he is too old to have one. Right, girl with no kids. How about my 5 month old that is capable of putting it in her mouth, is she too old for it too!?
DS uses his for naps and bedtime. He doesn't always need it, sometimes he falls asleep without it but I usually put it in his crib in case he wakes up looking for it. We also sometimes use it at other times, like if we're out somewhere and he's flipping out and I really need to settle him down. But the only time he consistently has it is when he's going to sleep.

This is us, too. Except we'll probably keep it a little bit longer than 2 because the new baby is coming in Feb, so we want her to still have that comfort to help the transition.

My LO had already completely forgotten about the paci...until a week ago when he found one. He was so happy to had found it...and hasnt let go since. lol Oh what to do now haha. I don't really mind it but I was happy he had let go of it on his own before the age of 2. oh kids!
I don't start side eyeing until the kid is speaking complete sentences and has to take the pacifier out to talk, then immediately replugs when he or she is done talking.
Our original plan was to kick the habit at 12 months. HA! At home she only gets it for her nap & bed. When we take her out of her crib she removes it and tosses it in. However, at daycare, it's clipped onto her bib and I think she uses it more. I think we need to quit with the paci clip and have it be nap only at dc as well. I, too, hope it will be long gone by her 2nd bday, especially since LO2 will be arriving around her birthday and I'd like her to be the "big girl" versus the "baby". Here's hoping
DS has his in the crib and sometimes in the car. When I get him out of bed, he drops it in the crib before we leave his room. I don't give it to him in the car unless we're on a long road trip but DH can't stand to hear him fuss in the car. I'm not worried about him using them at this point. DS1 had his until 2.5 in the car and bed only and gave it up on his own out of the blue one day. It was easy peasy and not a battle like I was expecting. I'm hoping DS2 will follow suit but if not, we'll work on taking it away around 2.5 probably. Our pediatric dentist isn't worried about them unless they have them after age 3.
