We just got our PREGNANT on the clear blue digital this morning, 12 DPO. We are so excited but also guarded because we know it does not always end well.
A little background, ME 25, DH 24 and this is our second pregnancy. Our DD was born 4/22/13 (41 weeks) and passed away at 24 days old. She was born with a rare heart condition, HLHS, that was diagnosed after she was born and had problems breathing. It was hard watching her have open heart surgery at 5 days old as well as various other procedures. I really hope this next baby comes out healthy, it's so hard to know what to do differently this time since currently there are no known causes of HLHS. I don't know if there is any point in the pregnancy that I will be able to relax since we lost our baby after she was born. I'm trying to live by the mantra that I have seen a lot of you say, I'm pregnant right now so I'm happy right now. Sorry for the lengthy intro and I hope we all have a H&H 9 months!

It will be hard not to worry, but try to remember this pregnancy is not that pregnancy and this baby is not that baby.
I hope you have a happy and uneventful pregnancy with a healthy baby on the other side!

I'm with you on the nervousness. Our son was 36 days old when he went to heaven. A lot of people say they'll feel much more calm once their baby is in their arms. That's when I know the crazy will really ramp up for me. If you ever need to talk to someone who shares an infant loss as well, feel free to PM me.

BFP #2 04/25/12 EDD 01/04/13(?) confirmed ectopic 05/16/12 6 wks 5 days 2 doses of MTX-Lost left tube on 05/25/12 Back to TTC, earlier than originally expected.
BFP #3 01/05/13 EDD 09/17/13 u/s 1/24/13-great appt, measuring 2 days ahead, NT scan 3/11/13-great scan measuring 4 days ahead, A/S 4/29/13-another great scan can't wait to meet my baby BOY!!!!!

Ok, number 1, congrats and welcome to the board!!! I'm so sorry for the loss of your sweet baby girl.
Number 2, that's by no means a long intro.
Number 3, it sounds to me like you maybe partially blame yourself for the HLHS. Congenital heart defects are mostly caused by genetics, not something you did. There nothing that you could have done.
Try to enjoy this pregnancy. I know it's hard. I've struggled with the "I'll never be safe" mentality as well. But you are pregnant so little during your lifetime and you can't get that time back. Whatever joy you can find during this experience, take it all in.
