Need Workout Video Recommendations!

DH and I bought P90X a couple years ago and actually really liked it.  The problem is, now I have a toddler and I just don't have the time to do the workouts.  Most of them are over an hour long!  I need something quicker.  I have been looking at T25 and TurboFire.  Anybody have any experiences?

Re: Need Workout Video Recommendations!

  • I've done Turbo Fire and have T25 but haven't done it yet.  I'm actually doing P90X right now- I like to get up at 5 AM to have my time to work out.  I love Turbo Fire. The work outs range from 10 minute stretch to 55 kickboxing.  I always just try to get done what I can, but if you're tight on time, definitely go with T25!  Let me know if you have questions- I'm a personal trainer and beachbody coach!

I don't know if you can attest to this or not but I was reading some reviews online about turbofire and I am worried about the complexity of the moves/dances.  I am not a very coordinated person and I am afraid I will have trouble with it.  As far as the length, I dont mind a longer workout every once in a while.  How often are the 55 minute workouts? With P90X, they are all longer, there is never a short day.  I think the yoga one is like an hour and a half long.

  • I've never done TurboFire but I have done the first month of T25. I like the 25 min workouts because I can always find time to get them in...and if I'm feeling really good and have the time I will go for a run or do a yoga DVD. I have heard from friends that TurboFire requires a lot of coordination and goes really fast but T25 requires some coordination too. I think it just takes a couple times through to get use to the moves. :)

This made me smile, because I am not very coordinated at all either!  It took me a few times doing the "new to class" version of the work outs to feel comfortable.  Also, she does each combo enough that you get the hang of it in Turbo Fire.  The calendar is 90 days, and the Fire 55 program is scheduled throughout- some phases you do  it more than others.

My philosophy with any work out is- I get done what I can.  With two toddlers and a full time job, I can't always be sure I'll get an hour done, but I try.  The P90X yoga is ridiculous!!  Good, but too long.  I usually crap out after 45 minutes :)

It might be good to start with the T25 program as it has two guarantees:  a great work out and only 25 minutes (although their is one day, you have to do two work outs).  I can send you some videos is you want so you can see each program and compare.  That might help you see if either would work for you!

Thanks for the advice. I think I am going to go with T-25.  If there are days I can do a longer workout I might throw in a P90X video (maybe I'll try to finally master the yoga, haha).

  • The Jillian michaels videos are short and intense!
  • I just ordered T25...Have you had success with it? How much weight have you lost? I need to lose 30 pds still!

  • I agree with Baby Musso, the Jillian Michaels are intense and I think effective. I'm about to start 30 Day Shred.
  • I love, love, love turbo fire!!! Just started back on it last week and it's kicking my butt again. The moves are fun and very energetic, not hard just takes a time or two to get it.
