We just installed our convertible carseat over the weekend. The manual recommended that we tether the seat. Do you tether your rear facing convertible car seat?
We don't tether our Radian, I have been meaning to but we have been moving it around quite a bit (and are actually currently using our infant seat again). Once we are done settling into the house and buying furniture (oy) I will.
We have the Britax Boulevard. I just don't ever recall seeing rear facing car seats tethered in cars. Maybe I need to peek in windows more closely.
No, we don't. I too am a car seat safety freak, but I've read mixed reviews on the necessity of tethering RF. We are on our 3rd britax boulevard and I didn't RF tether my older two kids either. Now, extended rear facing (my twins RF until just over 2.5, which was when recommendations were until 1), staying in a 5pt harness as long as possible (plan to 5 pt harness until age 5-6), those things I'm a stickler for, but tethering RFing ends up taking up space that I use to store things (coats, cart cover, etc) and also makes it so that my older kids can't crawl under the car seat, if they need to get out that side, so we don't do it.
