Introduction was in March 14 but due date has changed

Hello April Mamas,

I have been hanging out in the March 2014 group for couple weeks now. I got my BFP on July 21st and went to the doctor 2 weeks ago for my prenatal appointment, my E.D.D. was March 16th. I knew it would change because of my longer cycles. I was experiencing sharp pains in my left ovary so they had me come in today for an u/s. It showed my little peanut at only 5 weeks, 5 days. Which of course, pushed my due date back to April 2nd. I plan to hang out in both groups, March and April because there's always the chance of delivering in March.
My little peanut had a heart rate of 109, which she said is low because everything is still so early.

A little about myself, I've been married for almost a year now, we'll be celebrating our anniversary this Sunday, August 11th. I have an 8 year old S.S. who we have full custody of, so I guess I'm a full time step mama. I've been raising him like he's my own since right before his 5th birthday. He's definitely my little buddy. Since we thought I was farther along, we actually shared the news with him last weekend and he's very excited to get a brother or sister. But I'm sure it'll be a huge change since he's been an only child for 8 years. We live in a 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom house but we've actually been trying to sell it for about 6 months now to change school districts to the one I teach in. I have my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and I'm working on my Special Education certification and will be finished with that in June 2014. I am currently a substitute teacher because teaching jobs are slim around here. I hope someday I'll have my chance to teach full time, until then I'll enjoy the flexible schedule of substitute teaching.

Congrats! I was hanging out in March and got bumped back last week as well! I have 35 day cycles. We saw the heartbeat last Monday and our EDD as of now is just "the first week" of April. Seems so far from now! Since I thought I was farther along we have already told my in laws and many friends which makes things even more nerve wracking.

@halfcaffeinated, I'm in the same boat as you!! A couple of friends guessed that I was pregnant at a wedding 2 weekends ago. I of course, can't keep a good poker face and wasn't drinking so it was pretty obvious.

We told my MIL, SIL, my brother & sister, and parents! We also told my Grandmother and were getting ready to tell my aunts this week. I told my parents we had to put things on hold until we got farther along. My dad says the news is killing him, but we just can't share with anymore people.

I assumed I was about 7 weeks instead of 8. But I can't believe I got pushed back to 5 weeks, 5 days! I just think that's crazy, all because of a 33-40 day cycle.

I think I really know how you feel. My In-laws were SO excited when I told them --- I thought it was completely safe to tell them and that they could share the news soon. Now that I've had to swear them to secrecy they are completely bursting to tell. Of course I was so excited at my first ultrasound to see the heartbeat and fetal pole and find out everything looked good. But I was kinda bummed when the Dr. pushed up the due date -- maybe it's completely irrational, but it felt like starting all over. Obviously all that matters is arriving at term with a healthy baby, but that two weeks sure do make a huge difference mentally.

Yes, I agree! I was watching the weekly videos of the developmental stuff each week and I feel like I have to start all over going back to week 5. I know that sounds crazy, because you are right all that matters is a healthy baby. I can't wait until my next appointment though when there's actually baby parts to see!
