I was told by a couple people that after they had their boy circumcised they couldn't use pampers diapers because the diapers have something in them that would cause an infection. Has anyone heard of this problem?
I used pampers newborn diapers on my son after his circumcision and never had a problem. I've heard a lot recently about pampers and none sound too factual.
I have never heard of this and used pampers with both of my boys. Around 2010 there was some controversy when pampers changed their diapers and added "dry max" to their swaddlers and cruisers and many believed that the dry max gave their babies a rash, but that was with both boths and girls. If you are really concerned about that you can use the pampers baby dry which does not have dry max, but like I said I used pampers with both of my boys and never had a problem. Just keep vaseline on it so it doesn't stick to the diaper. I found it easiest to smear vaseline on the actual diaper itself.
Never heard that and we used pampers with my DS. Your doctor will give you instructions about caring for it. Per PP advice about Vaseline....not all procedures require the use of it. We were explicitly told not to use it after my son's.
I never heard this. Our hospital uses Pampers. I'm sure my doctor would have mentioned something about it when she asked if we will circumcise our son. It might just be how it was cared for after the fact
You could just not circumcise and then you have nothing to worry about! Leave his penis alone.
or, you could quit worrying about what other people do with their kids penis(es)? penii? whatever. Your response doesn't even come close to her original question.
OP, as others have said I haven't heard of it. My son was and still is a pampers baby and we never had problems with his circ. Your hospital staff should show you proper care before leaving.

Funny. That's how I feel with each of your posts. You are a horrible representation of an Air Force wife. You probably need to get back to selling scentsy.
I find it humorous that you could find male genital mutilation to just be an eye rolling concept.

Daaaamn. That was a little over the top. I agree, she didn't ask for your opinion on circumcision. Don't give it.
OP, my son was circumcised (gasp!) and wore Pampers in the hospital and for the first few months of his life with no issues.
I have heard of Pampers causing burns on babies, but never that you should avoid them after circumcision. About 8% of all babies suffer from an infection after circumcision. I don't think it has anything to do with the type of diaper being used, but rather from the open wound coming into contact with urine and feces.

Male genital mutilation? Really? LOL. That's quite the reach there lady. Get over yourself and off the high horse! OP didn't ask for opinions on the topic of anything but a diaper brand. You need to calm your tits a bit and chillax with the bully attitude.
Re: circumcision and pampers
They will show you how to properly care for the circumcision in the hospital.
