Anyone else getting a workout just trying to keep up with your LO:) Are you planning to use a safety gate? If so which one...

I had totally planned on changing my hubby's man space into a dual space making it a playroom by now ...but laziness took over and have not started

We have 3 gates in our house so far.

Kidco hardware mounted gate for top of the stairs in our living room (stairs leads down to the garage/basement).

Kidco pressure-mounted gate for DS's room - at the doorway.

Regalo extra-wide 52" pressure-mounted gate that blocks off the kitchen/dining room area from the living room (our place is open-concept). This gate is usually open except when we're cleaning the floors after meals, or when I'm cooking.

ETA: all 3 gates were bought used off CL. Spent $70 total on all 3. I think a single Kidco gate costs close to $50 brand new.

Here's our rig. I can close off stairs only or both stairs and dining area. I love these gates, they're evenflo.

Ours is safety first and I don't know what model it is, but it sucks! We take it down at night after he goes to bed or when he's not on the floor playing because I seriously think it was made to keep Michael Jordon from going from room to room....you have to like run and jump to get over it haha. It's really fun to try to get over after a glass of wine or two. I know this because I've spent quite a few nights flying face first onto my kitchen floor.

Oh, in addition to being difficult to get over when you're drunk, it's difficult to put up and take down. The two buttons you have to push at the same time are awkwardly placed.
