terrible 2s

...and I mean terrible.  DS has been so whiney/crabby/tantrum lately.  It started before DD came so I don't really attribute it to that, although it has gooten a tad worse.  Hes is whining and carrying on about everything.  I know people say terrible twos can last til they are 3, but does it peak ang get a little better or should I expect to go bald from pulling all my hair out??

I'm right there with you! I think it really depends on the kid. My youngest nephew is 3.5 and he never hit this wild and crazy stage, he's always been such a mellow kid. N is just now starting to get ridiculous, but I am blaming a lot on the molars that are coming in. She's definitely showing more of her personality lately, and she's wanting to make more decisions for herself- therein lies the problem.

It's like: No kid, I am not gonna sit here and do nothing while you put 80 million sticks on my coffee table. Cue meltdown.

Hopefully it'll be like any other phase that we adapt to and it becomes easier, you know?

  • Nick is there too, which really surprised me because he was the EASIEST baby up until 2 weeks before he turned 2. I actually took him to the dr because I thought maybe he was sick, because it was so unlike him.

With Tim it goes in waves. I find the half's are the worst like 2, 2.5, 3,3.5 and now we're approaching 4 which has made him become demon child again.

If I can detect the cause and extinguish it's not too bad more bearable, with Tim he's the worst if he's hungry or tired and HORRIBLE when it's both.
    I just know I need a break!

  • My DD took it literally. On her 2nd birthday she was HORRIBLE! And acts like that almost every day now...Hoping it ends soon!!

  • I heard the 3's are worse.

And that scares the beejeebus out of me.

Right now, I'm counting down the days until preschool starts.

  • My DD is getting increasingly independent and increasingly frustrated when she can't do what she wants. Putting on/taking off shoes causes numerous meltdowns a day. She says, "I do it!" And then shrieks if she can't.
