What is wrong with people?

My mom is hosting a baby shower for me (she's super excited, this is her first grandchild), that being said she is the person listed to RSVP to.  I have had two people contact me directly saying they won't be able to attend the shower, a shower that I didn't actually know the date of, but I do now!  Thanks people!

    People did the same thing to me! And I kept getting questions about where and when it was and I was like "uhhhh I don't know anything about it...." People!

    Did the invitation say it was a surprise? I can totally see myself doing the same thing unless the invitation explicitly said that it was a surprise.

    I am surprised they contacted you. Normally someone host it for you so the host should be the one responding.

    And I got another one today.  When the invite says "RSVP to x" followed by a phone number and an email address you would think they could follow those instructions.

    The invitation didn't specify it was a surprise, I knew it was happening, I just didn't know when.  Now I know when lol.  Honestly it shouldn't have to say it's a surprise if there is a specific person listed on it to RSVP to.  I've never had a problem responding to the person specified...it's just weird.

    I had so many people contact me directly instead of follow the instructions on the invite! I had to constantly report back to my sister.  Ugh...

    Are they RSVPing to you or just telling you that can't make it? I will always RSVP to the host of the party, but I also like to let the guest of honor know I'm sorry to be missing it and depending on the reason, I will share why. I just like to let them know I'm sorry to miss their day, especially if it is a good friend.
