Someone should tell her...

How tacky it is to be asking your friends for money on your own baby pool. I have a friend who, for the past week has been posting on Facebook asking people to join in their baby pool and send them money for their guesses. She's made a big calendar and everything. I am all for baby pools, my work did one for me and it was so nice. But something just seems so weird about doing one for yourself. I feel like I should be on the baby showers board with this. I've never been one to think behavior, but seeing her ask for money for this daily is getting on my nerves.

  • Bahaha... Now that would be SERIOUSLY tacky.
To clarify, a baby pool where you guess sex and date they will be born.

  • Oh, that is tacky!

  • I thought it would be interesting for someone else to do one for us, however I wouldn't have collected $ if was doing it myself. Agree that it is tacky to do yourself.

  • Yeah, it is tacky to organize this for yourself. Kind of along the same lines as throwing yourself a shower.
  • Speaking of tacky, the other day I got a Facebook invite for a baby shower where they requested guests bring a gift, money for big ticket items, and diapers for a diaper raffle. The excuse for the tackiness? They are a young, financially unstable couple with an accidental pregnancy. I might (probably not) be more sympathetic if I didn't know that they are planning to only use brand new items. No hand-me-downs or thrift store finds for their princess... /:)

Why use store brands and hand-me-downs when you can host a fundraiser and get people to buy you all new stuff?

Geez.  The entitlement of some people...
