Newborn in a mei tai?

DS is between 8-9 lbs and I bought a Mei Tai last night because the box said you could begin at 8 lb. I put him in it though and while I think I put it on right, I didn't feel confident about it and I didn't feel like he was in there snug and secure like with my ring sling. Has anyone put a newborn in a mei tai before? Any tips?

Make sure his head and neck are well supported and comfy, and at his age/size, froggying his legs in the mei tai is probably your best bet. Lots of people put newborns in mei tais!

You might be able to find some good tutorial videos on youtube too. Good luck!

Also you can roll a thin flannel blanket to put under baby's bottom to lift him up so he is better positioned on your chest.
I agree frog your babies legs and find a way to tie it to make you feel safer.
