Ectopic vs. Natural M/C

My OB said I was not at risk for an ectopic...I thought everyone was. Is there anything I should have her check before the DNC to make sure it is not ectopic or will they be able to tell when they go in?

    There are some higher risk factors for an ectopic, but I didn't have any of them. Doc basically told DH he didn't see any reason for it, and it looks like a fluke thing. I would think like with most things there are that increase the risk, but there is always that crazy fluke case out there.

    As pp said your dr. can tell by u/s before the d&c. GL!

    If you have had an u/s and they can see it in the uterus, its not an ectopic.

    How far along are you?  If your betas are 1,500 or more, they should see something on the u/s.  In my case, my betas were almost 3,000 and they didn't see anything in the uterus or tubes... they wanted to do a D&C.  I am glad that I went to the RE because they found a tubal ectopic (previously misdiagnosed as an ovarian cyst) and I was treated with methotrexate... Still hoping to avoid surgery...

    Do they see anything via u/s?  If they do a D&C, they can test the tissue to see if they got fetal tissue... also, your hcg should dramatically decrease-- if not, they will know the pregnancy is growing somewhere else.

    Also, I don't have any of the risk factors for ectopic.  This egg just lost its sense of direction I guess :(
