1st Trimester

8 weeks pregnant and don't feel a thing

Is that normal?  My only symptoms were tender breasts and my period was super late so I took a pregnancy test on Tuesday, 7/30.  I think I'm just worried because I had been drinking before I knew I was pregnant, and I got an x-ray at the chiropractor, too!!  I really hope everything is okay, but the doctor won't see me until 8/8.  I just feel like I should have morning sickness, or feel different in some way!!  When I first took the test on tuesday, it was a very faint test line.  Last night I took one again and it's way darker.  That's good, right?

Re: 8 weeks pregnant and don't feel a thing

  • Lack of symptoms means very little.  I didn't have symptoms until around 7 weeks, some ladies didn't have them for even longer, and some (very lucky few) don't ever have many symptoms.  You are most likely fine. :)

  • No major symptom just tendered boobs and really sleepy. I was the same way with DS. I know it's nice to have the reassurance but enjoy the lack of symptoms.

  • Symptoms commonly come and go. It's not a sign of how pregnant you are.
  • I'm 9w3d and haven't had hardy any symptoms, besides being extremely tired. I was a nervous wreck till I had my first ultra sound on Thursday but everything was perfect! Its easier said than done but try not to stress. Everything will work out :)
  • I only had tender boobs and no period with my first daughter. I never had any other symptom thought my pregnancy....no morning sickness, nothing. And, I got drunk TWICE before I knew I was pregnant, and my 5 year old daughter is perfectly healthy. Don't worry....you are fine.

  • I didn't have any symptoms until 8 weeks and even after that, they were light.
  • Thank you ladies!!! What a relief. Hahah I've been so worried but I'm trying really hard not to stress about it because it won't help anything.  Now I can finally try to enjoy the fact that I don't have bad symptoms. :)
  • The fact that your line is getting darker is a good sign because that means the pregnancy hormone, HCG, is increasing in your system. With my first, I was not sick until week 9.

  • Oh no, so there's a chance that I could still get morning sickness... awesome.  Haha
  • One more question, how do you get your little pregnancy tracker on there?!  I figured out how to change my signature but maybe I used the wrong code?  Nothing is coming up. :(
  • Symptoms or lack thereof are never a sign of how pregnant you are. Take it with a grain of salt and enjoy it while it lasts.
  • If the line was very faint and is getting darker, you are probably much earlier than you think. You probably ovulated very late and that may be why you have no symptoms yet. Though like others have said, no symptoms doesn't mean anything's wrong.

  • Yeah, I'm kid 3 and have yet to feel bad any of the times. 3rd tri always hits me harder than the first 2.
  • I'm 7w and dont have a single symptom.  I was naseuous and tired for a week or so when I first found out, but now, nothing.  With my LO I had every symptom under the sun at this point.  I don't see the OB until 8/19 so I was worried too, but after a quick call the nurse reassured me that its totally normal.

  • Thank you everyone!  I sure hope I'm 8 weeks pregnant like I was told.  Not that a few weeks really matters.  I just can't wait until I get to the point where I can really go public.  We want to talk to our doctor and figure out when a good time to do that is.  We're thinking around 12-14 weeks or so.
  • When I was pg with DS, I had zero symptoms. This time around, not so much. Count yourself as lucky and try not to worry. :)

  • It's just hard to believe that I'm pregnant haha.  I'm sure the ultrasound I'll be getting on Thursday will change all of that though!! :)  Thank you, I guess I am lucky! (knock on wood)
  • Normal. Symptoms will come and go.
  • No symptoms at 8week? OMG: lucky you!! Wishing we could trade places for just a week, I do need the break,lol..
  • Aw hahaha, I mean, I'm having really weird dreams and feel nauseous every now and then, but that's about it.  I'm sure now that I've posted about this it'll get horrible!!
  • Hang in there, it'll get better!! :)
  • I completely understand where you're coming from. I'm 5 weeks 4 days and am experiencing very little symptoms. I was started to get worried a little until I read your post. Sounds like we're a little lucky to not be having symptoms at this point. Hang in there!
