I'm starting to notice the Halloween gear coming out in the stores and it just hit me - I'm going to be spending Halloween with my LO! On the outside of my body! Anyone have Halloween plans?
Dd1 is going to be the Lorax, so I'm having a friend who crochets make the baby a hat that Looks like a truffula tree, I'll wear her in the ring sling, so she doesn't need a whole costume, just the hat.
That is a super cute idea! I still need to figure out what DD is going to be. I'll probably just dress this LO in a pumpkin onesie or Halloween themed sleeper.
Ds was only 2 months for his first Halloween an he was a pumpkin. It was just a sleeper like and a hat. This lo will wear the same when we take ds out for a little bit.
I haven't even thought about Halloween! The best part about things coming up is that I get to spend my birthday this year (Oct 16) with LO. Wow. I'm gonna be a mommy on my birthday!
DD had several Halloween items last year. One is a gender neutral onesie, so DS will probably wear that. I plan on doing the same for multiple other holidays (unless DH's parents keep sending an outfit for every holiday like they have so far for DD). There are perks to having two babies in 13 months.
Mommy to N (3), J (2), and C (10 months). LO4 is due in mid-September.
I am so excited to do sibling costumes this year! LO is going to be the hungry caterpillar and DD will be the butterfly.
We will go to pumpkin fest, down town trick or teat, and regular trick or treating on Halloween.
She will be a ladybug from Carter's and we will most likely go to my parents house to hand out candy (we live in condos with mostly old people so no trick-or-treaters). I just want to see her all dressed up!!
DD had a couple Halloween parties last year so we may be going to those again this year. Last year we went trick or treating just on our block, mostly to see our neighbors. The church down the street always has a carnival so we may end up there. We have a few smaller Halloween costumes but if she doesn't fit in them yet she has pumpkin socks. Guess I need to figure out a costume for DD1. She has some dress up clothes so we will probably just choose something from those.
Don't laugh but on of the first outfits we bought was a pink teddy bear outfit for our little girls first Halloween. We will be going to my parents to hand out candy and see my three nieces go trick or treating. Sorry it is sideways but you get the idea.
Halloween is DH's favorite holiday and he's already got Halloween fever. We even went into Yankee Candle today and he was basically dragging me out because he was "frustrated" and wanted to buy Witch's Brew and all his favorite autumn scents. He is a dork.
I'm so excited, it's the first year I'll probably pass out candy due to living in rural areas previously. I'm still looking for the perfect costume, that'll be small enough to fit him, because it seems like newborn costumes are few and far between.
I've thought about ideas for a while. I saw a couple cute one's for DH LO and me. My fav are DH: football player ME: cheerleader and baby is the football. DH: ketchup bottle ME: mustard bottle and baby is a little hotdog.
If you google costumes you could go crazy at all the adorbs!
Dh wants to dress LO up like a knight, and DH wants to dress up like a dragon. I think that would be awesome, but it will be more fun when he is a little older. So maybe next year.
We are gonna dress her up in something cute that says my first Halloween. I'll stay home with DD2 and DH will take DD1 to trick or treating. No clue what she'll be yet!
DD is going to be Bo Peep and LO will be a sheep! LO will have a simple white onesie covered in cotton balls and pants covered in cotton too. That way if we are outside she can wear the pants and if we are inside she can take them off. I haven't figured out how to make DDs costume yet and I'm too cheap to buy one so if anyone has ideas pass them along!
DS goes trick or treating so DH will probably take him out and I'll stay home with the LO and pass out candy. It is usually pretty chilly here at night in late October so I doubt we will take the baby out.
We will also do the pumpkin patch/fall festival and the trick or treating at the mall like we do every year, so I'll probably get DD a cheap costume for that.
My little guy is wearing the same costume that his brothers wore. My oldest son got a pumpkin stretchie with matching shoes and hat when he was born. DS2 wore it too. I'll probably take the LO Trick or Treating with his big brothers.
Oh also, in the neighborhood my parents live in, where we go trick or treating, the moms sort of travel in packs, usually with wine, as they follow their kids around.
I CANNOT wait to be apart of that awesomeness. Dads come too, I think their job is to herd the moms and children. I even found a perfect sippy cup for my wine.
Cheers anyone?
One of my crafty friends had a personalized one made for me on etsy i think that says 'Stephanie's sippy cup' ...and I can't wait to use it!
This post makes me so excited to have LO here in fall! In the past DH and I have gone with our friends and their kids to the apple orchard. Although fun, I'm sure it'll be double the fun when we have own baby to bring to the party! We will probably go to the pumpkin patch too and find a little costume for LO to wear while we pass out candy, but I have no idea what the costume will be.

Depending on when LO arrives (edd is 9/21), LO could be just a month old or so....probably just get a cute Halloween sleeper/outfit and see the grandparents. I'm guessing we'll be 1) too tired to shop for something, and 2) not want to spend a lot of money for a Halloween costume. Next year, we'll have more fun

I think we are going to do a farm theme, I will be a Farmer and DS1 and 2 will be farm animals, I generally get second hand costumes, so we will see what costumes are available if they have two farm animals I am sold .
Diagnosed with Anti little c antibodies. DS1 7.11.11 - Anaemia and Jaundice. 10 days in the NICU, 1 exchange transfusion and 4 blood transfusions. DS2 29.8.13 - Anaemia 7 days in the NICU and 1 exchange transfusion. Both are now happy and healthy.

I was thinking I'd do nothing but yes, I think the idea of some sort of sibling coordination is really awesome, so I'll have to think of something.
Of course, this is the first thing that comes to mind -- DS is currently into trash trucks. He could be a trash man, the stroller the trash truck, and LO2 some trash (or a trash can). Of course, that sounds totally horrible, gross, and mean, so I will probably have to think of another theme.

Light pink shirt, pink tulle skirt with white tulle 'apron' over top, or a real white apron. White sweat pants with lace aroud the ankles.

Re: Baby's First Halloween?!
I'm sure we'll make our annual trip to the pumpkin patch, too!
I still need to figure out what DD is going to be. I'll probably just dress this LO in a pumpkin onesie or Halloween themed sleeper.
