Ok, so I posted about this at 6 months and here we are, at month 7, and still nothing. DS still isn't sitting up unsupported yet. He will sit in his play seat, on me, or in the shopping cart...of course, all of those are supported...but when I try to get him to sit up on his own, he refuses. I've put pillows and the boppy around him so I can sit in front of him and play and I've put him between my legs so I can support him and play. Either way, he scrunches down until he's on his back again and can roll around. He doesn't seem interested, but he can do it for at least a few seconds if he wants to. I've seen him do it. At the 6 month appointment, the pedi said practice pull ups and tummy time so he strengthens his core. We do both and still he refuses. He just flops right over. I know I'll probably get 'every baby grows at their own pace', but I'm becoming worried. He is starting to get on his knees and elbows and rock, so maybe he's working on crawling before sitting?! Any suggestions or advice?
Re: Sitting up?
My DD is 7 months and just started sitting up - and it happened fast. She couldn't even sit in the shopping cart a week ago without falling over right away, and now a week later she can sit on the floor for 20 minutes by herself if she wants to. A lot can change in just a few days!
Also, my DD is nowhere near getting on her hands and knees, so that's awesome that your DS is doing that!
