My friend lost a baby two years ago the day after she announced at 12 weeks. Talk about a devastating high to low. She has been unable to conceive since then and her and her husband were seeing a fertility specialist. They just announce yesterday that they are expecting! Not that any of that is hugely important to my question but I'd like to get them something unique and special.
DH suggested a really nice children's book. But I'm not sure of a good title. Not Dr. Suess.
I'm not sure if your friend is anything like me, but after trying for a child for over two years, I wanted to remember every single moment of being pregnant. I bought The Belly Book on Amazon. It's basically where you keep track of your weeks of pregnancy, how you were feeling, symptoms, etc. There is a spot for pictures to track your growth too. There are a few other books out there like this, but I can't think of the names right now. Of course, if your friend does not like to write or want to keep up with a book like this, it might not be for her.
I also like the idea of a nice children's book, but I can't think of anything specific right now.
Thank you ladies. I bought two of "Wherever You are My Love will Find You" also by Nancy Tillman. I plan on donating one to the children's library for all the little ones we never got the chance to meet and one to her for the little one we can't wait to know.

I was thinking about On The Night You Were Born as well. Or something as equally sentimental. Very sweet.
