Transporting fresh samples...

Hello friends. DW and I decided to start trying today! We are fortunate that we are using fresh samples and have access to them, but I was wondering if any of you can advise on the best way to transport it? We are transporting it about 45 minutes and was thinking under the arm would keep it warm enough? Any tips? 

TTC our first. Married to, and madly in love with, my beautiful wife. Living with our fur baby and enjoying 19 nieces and nephews. 
  • DW and I have been tracking, preparing, getting medical testing since January 2013.
  • First Cycle: Unmedicated ICI w/ Donor Sperm 08/02/13: BFN
  • Second Cycle: Unmedicated ICI w/ Donor Sperm 09/11/13, 09/13/13, 09/15/13: BFN
  • Third Cycle: Unmedicated ICI w/ Donor Sperm: 10/13/13, 10/15/13, 10/17/13, 10/21/13: BFN
  • January 2014: Sonohysterogram shows excellent lining & tubes have no blockages
  • Fourth Cycle:  Monitored clomid cycle  w/ ICI's at home: 1/24/14 and 1/25/14. Ovulation verified:  BFN
  • Fifth Cycle: 02/2014 Femara 5mg with ovidrel trigger CD14: BFN
  • Taking a few months off to evaluate if we want to keep trying

    I would talk to your doctor/clinic to see what they recommend. I work in a lab that processes semen and we recommend to patients that cannot provide a sample at the lab to keep it in their lap (preferably between their underwear and pants) to keep it as close to "real" body temperature as possible without over heating. 

    Also, the quicker you can get it to where it needs to be, the better. If you have not already, you may want to check with your clinic to make sure 45 minutes is acceptable. I know of one lab in my area that will not accept samples older than 30 minutes. Good luck!

    I'm not sure if 45 min makes a difference, but I had to transfer a fresh sample from a hospital lab to my GYN a few years ago (approx 20 min) and they said to either put it in my bra or between my thighs.

    AMH .97 as of 4/2012! ~ AMH 1.63 as of 4/2013!?!

    Multiple clomid rounds from 11/2010 to 6/2011. ~ All BFN

    Yup I did the bra/between my thighs transport when we had DH SA done. Also ditto Sammer, I would check with the time frame because I have heard 30mins and I have heard an hour. Good luck!

    April 2013 DE IVF= BFN

    September 2013 DE IVF (Fingers Crossed) = BFFFN! again...

    October 2013 FET of our last 2 = Beta Hellzz for 6-7 Weeks. M/C
