Trying to break free of carseat

So dd has been doing this weird thing lately in her car seat. She keeps pulling on the straps and pushing her head forward with making this really weird face. It's like she's struggling to get out, she does it so much that the chest strap gets really low from her constantly pushing on it. I made it pretty tight and she still manages to move it! I don't know if its time for a convertible seat but I feel like she just might do the same thing. Anyone else experience their lo's trying to escape their seat??

Re: Trying to break free of carseat

  • DD1 has done this since she was strong enough to, and I still fight her on a daily basis. Some kids just hate the car seat. I just adjust it when I get the chance.

DD2 on the other hand likes to thrust her chest forward so it's as tight as it possibly can be. Especially when I am trying to buckle her, so I have to loosen it, then tighten it once it's buckled.

    Kids are fun, right?

  • DD acts like she's trying to open the chest clip. She obviously doesn't have the dexterity yet, but she watches you open/close it, then her little hands go up there like she's trying to do that too. She also likes to arch her back and stick her chest out when you're trying to close the chest clip, like she thinks it will keep you from strapping her in.

  • Not in her car seat, but, in her chair yes.  Since she's been about 4mnts she's been trying to figure out how to unclip herself from her chair.  What she wants to do once she's figured it out, I have no clue.
