My DD turns three this month and will transition out of her toddler room to the preschool room at our current CYS. They call the new room preschool but they do not have any formal preschool in place, it will be the same as her current room just with older kids. One of her providers in her toddler room suggested a off base, private preschool that starts formal preschool at 3. Today I went and checked it out and it was school! I don't think I was expecting that. Now my question is, when is it to early to start preschool. I'm caught because I don't want her to grow up to early and be pushed into school to early but I also do not want her to become bored and un challenged in her current childcare. Let me know your thoughts on preschool.
Re: Preschool P3
LO goes to a daycare center and went from the toddler room to the young preschool room in March. They learn letters, numbers, work on fine motor skills like cutting and tracing, have circle time where they do calendar and listen to stories, work on social skills, have a line leader and a line ender, have a class helper, do art projects, have music class once a week, and have in school field trips.
But they also have lots of free choice time and free play. And they get outside 2 -3 times per day.
He will be in this room for a year and then will move to the older preschool room when he turns 4.
