Essential Oils

Or 'snake oil' as I used to call them.  I used to think they were kind of woo woo hippy crap, but a gal in one of my business groups gave me her spiel...and I'll be damned if I'm not tempted to try some.  Anyone use any essential oils?  Which ones?

  • Do you use them for specific issues?  And how often do you use them?

  • Lavender=good for calming and acts as a neosporin for cuts burns and helps fight infection. Also anti inflammatory and helps with headaches when used topically. Peppermint is good for pain like headaches and sore muscles when used topically. Also good for heartburn and upset tummy when taken orally. Eucalyptus is like vapor rub. Thieves oil is good for flu and virus. I took thieves once when I had a fever and it broke and I got better real quick. Also use Joy essential oil. It's a blend. And is good for uplifting and hormone regulation. Peace and calming oil is a blend and is a good calming sleep aid. Good for stress. Lemon oil i use to diffuse in the house. Makes it smell so fresh. Also i put lemon oil in my water and it helps to detox the body. There's so many that are beneficial. Those are some of the ones I use regularly. Go to Young Livings site to learn and read more.

The brand I use is called Young Living. It's one of those most expensive kinds. But it is the best quality. And if you are wanting to ingest certain oils like peppermint, lemon, grapefruit, etc... I recommend this brand. Essential oils are strong and shouldn't be used topically on sensitive skin. When using with babies be sure to dilute it in olive oil or coconut oil. And if you ingest it be sure do drink lots of water.

This is great thanks!  I was actually going to start easy with the lemon in my water for a gentle detox.  I got started looking at them b/c the gal I was talking to mentioned something they have that is all natural bug repellant that I thought would be great for LO...then I got sucked in!
